So, I don't know if the hub/Hasbro are cracking down, if it's the new Youtube copyright policies and flagging system, or what, but it is turning out to be really, really difficult to find this season to watch on Youtube.  And of course, it's also not available to buy on the UK itunes store, only the US one and changing stores is a pain in the arse.  Blah.  I think I may have found a channel with them on, so fingers crossed it has all the ones I've not seen yet.  I'm quite a few weeks behind.

As some of you may know, the new series of MLP:FiM started at the weekend.  I was worried about when I would get to see it, but thanks to Youtube, I was able to watch the two-part opener Sunday morning which is great.  I'm hoping I'll be able to find the rest of the series on Youtube too.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it.  It made me realise how much I'd missed it (even though, yes I know I can still watch the episodes on Youtube whenever I want), and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.

So, I think I've finally finished messing with Rainbow Dash's hair.  I reset it last night, and this evening it still looked much the same as it did when I first took it out of the elastics.  I have had to put a tiny piece of magic tape behind her ears to keep the wayward strand of hair from springing up too much, but this is as good as she's going to get I think.

I didn't get round to posting this.  Go Fish has officially started!  The genre the majority of you want me to write for, is High Fantasy and I'm pretty pleased with this.  I have an awesome idea for the first scene, now I just need to take that and work out a comprehensive plot, (well comprehensive-ish plot, I have only 10,000 words after all, and a normal chapter for my legacy tends to be between 3 and 8 thousand words more than this, so once I get going, it's entirely posible this will be only the beginning of a story).[Poll #1854366]

Bear in mind, I might ignore the results completely or change them as  I see fit.  It is after all my story.  Also, if I use their face sculpts, I might change their characters to fit my vision.

One thing I did do last night, was reset Dash's hair.  It's not perfect, but I am pretty happy with it.  I'll see if it's still laying how I left it when I get home tonight, and I'll post a pic if it still is.

Countschlik posted their Rainbow Dash hair tutorial the other day and I decided to give it a go this weekend.  I've already used the Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie ones to great effect.

I'll never be any good at hair dressing )

Oh Hasbro.

I had to go over the town this morning and so I've finally picked up some ponies from the Entertainer (£5 each, not bad).  The only one of the Mane 6 they didn't have was Pinkie, but in the end I decided to get only the three I really wanted (Fluttershy, AJ and Dash).  I'll get the rest at a later date.

More ponies I'm afraid, but this is awesome and needs to be shared.

So, I'm pretty firmly on the pony wagon at this point (or should that be back on the pony wagon after twenty odd years?).  I finished watching the second series of MLP:FiM the other day, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  It's fun, and cute and smart, and looks great, aaand I love how each episode is kinda like a morality tale.  I love it, and the characters.  I'm not sure how far I'll get into the fandom, since I skirt round the edges of fandom as a rule, but I found this and had to share because it is AWESOME.

[livejournal.com profile] profbutters has been posting a lot about My Little Pony lately, and for the most part I've read them and gone "aww, I loved MLP the very first time round, it's nice to see the brand getting a make over so a new generation of kids are introduced to them" and leaving it at that, since the posts have always been about the cartoons and well, that first time round when I loved MLP, it wasn't the cartoons I liked.  In fact, I can't remember ever watching the cartoon series.  Oh I remember being aware of the movies and such, but not in the same way I was aware of the cartoons associated with Care Bears and She-ra, two of my other favourite toys (and She-ra was my favourite cartoon series, hands down.  That show was AWESOME).  No, to me MLP was aaaaaaaalllllllll about the toys.  Her latest post is about the G4 toys and hair styling, and all of a sudden I'm five years old again and I love my My Little Ponies.

In which I am five years old again )
