So, I signed up for Myshuno! and then got so caught up in the cc project I'm working on, that I forgot about it.  Oops.  But anyway, here is my card.  Thank you everyone who has prompted me.  I've taken one prompt from everyone, combining a couple of prompts which went well together, and then I went back and picked other prompts that I liked the look of to get to 24 prompts.  I know I'm at a very odd place with the story at the moment, in that I'm in the middle of a very important storyline and there are still lots of things to be revealed to you all before I'm done, let alone be able to start to introduce you all to the next generation of my family, but I think that there is a mix of story driven prompts and fun prompts here, which is good.

*waves* Hi everyone.  I'm not dead as you can see.  Work has been extremely busy and stressful lately, and I'm exhausted in the evenings, and feeling very unsocial, which is why I've been missing from LJ and AIM.  I have, however been posting over at tumblr, because I find it far easier to upload pictures there.

I'm neck deep in default replacing all of the meals that came with the game at the moment, but my story is also not dead.  I have one more section to write for the next chapter, before I can edit it, so I will get onto that at some point, once my brain decides that it likes words and forming coherent sentences again.  I've also signed up for [livejournal.com profile] sim_spiration's Myshuno! again this year.  My thread is here, so please feel free to prompt me.  I make no promises about how I'm going to do, but I need to kick start the ol' noggin and this should be a fun way to do it.

Chapter 24.5:  11/14 sections written totalling 108 slides.

Chapter 25: 2/4 sections written totalling 17 slides.

So I didn't finish it, but that's ok.  I have more written than I would have if I hadn't participated which is good.

It's also made me realise the past week or so that I'm starting to feel completely overwhelmed with my story, my lack of talent and this community.  I've gone into full organise everything mode the last couple of days and I also don't want to talk to anyone, both on line and in real life.  This is my cue to step back, take a break from everything and get my head on straight.

So I'm going to disappear for a bit.  Probably not for long, but I need to sort myself out so that I can avoid becoming ill again.  I'll get round to answering the comments on my last post when I'm feeling better.  So take care and I'll see you all soon.  I'll be back before you know it.

Goal:

Complete the shooting scripts for chapters 24.5 and 25.

Week two progress:

Chapter 24.5:  9/14 sections written totalling 94 slides.

Chapter 25: 2/4 sections written totalling 17 slides.

I started off well this week, but I haven't worked on the chapter for the past three days.  I do feel better about it though.  I realised I could use montages to show some of the sections I want to include, so that's good, and why the sections written has gone up much more than the slides written.

I'm also now on the part of the chapter which I have more of a concrete idea about.  This is good.  Once I can tear myself away from the funness that is Tomb Raider, I can hopefully power through that part.

Goal:

Complete the shooting scripts for chapters 24.5 and 25.

Week one progress:

Chapter 24.5:  4/14 sections written totalling 71 slides (holy carp this chapter is going to be HUGE).

Chapter 25: 2/4 sections written totalling 17 slides.

I've not done that much this week.  To tell the truth, writing for chapter 24.5 is not going well at all.  It's not the plot that's giving me trouble since the most plot intensive part of the chapter is already written, and needs only minimal editing.  The thing I'm struggling with is the uni bits, the linking narrative and putting my sims in everyday situations where I can show their character development which is integral to the plot.

Plus I look at how long the chapter is already and how much I still need to do, and panic.  This chapter is going to be longer than I really want.

The other thing that isn't helping is that I'm going through a little bit of a simming slump this week and so I don't even want to open the game.

Anyway Blah.  Feeling a little despondent over this whole chapter and considering doing a kind of game that I'll ask for your input with in order to get writing my characters in and effort to get this chapter done.

Well, ok not a prologue, but SimStoCreMo 2013 starts tomorrow, and so I thought I would make a leeetle post outlining my goal before I start.

Goal:

Complete the shooting scripts for chapters 24.5 and 25.

Starting point:

Chapter 24.5:  2/14 sections written totalling 45 slides (holy carp this chapter is going to be HUGE).

Chapter 25: 2/4 sections written totalling 17 slides.

Yes, chapter 24.5 covers a lot, but I might cut it down some, so it might not be 14 sections long in the end. Also, yes 25 is short, but that's very intentional.  I want to start putting out shorter chapters to get through this big piece of my plot, rather than the mega chapters I've been writing.  if I get it right, chapter 24.5 will be the last mega chapter for a while.

HI everyone, I hope you're all well.  I'm being completely mad at the moment, but wanted to pop in to share this with you all.   [livejournal.com profile] sim_spiration are hosting SimStoCreMo again this year.  For those who don't know, this is a month long event, where participants aim to finish a goal related to their sims story.  I wasn't in a position to participate last year, but I am this year.  I'll post with my goal nearer the start date, but if you want to check it out, go ahead.  It was a lot of fun when I took part two years ago.

This year I did it!  Yay!  I'm very happy about this, especially since I was behind my target number of drabbles at the beginning of December and I knew it would be a busy month.  But I managed to get going and get the drabbles finished.

Title:  Run Irene, Run.
Prompt: Irene's flight. (Go Fish) ([livejournal.com profile] lauriempress)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating: 10/10.
Summary: What happens to Irene after Esmond manges to leave the Smithy and the village.
Notes: It was a lot of fun to revisit this, and although I'd like to add more to it, I think that this is a good start for one of the next parts to the story, when I get back to it.
Word Count: 625.

Irene’s heart pounded even harder, making her blood sing in her ears. )

Title:  Secrets and Indiscretion.
Prompt: If the glove fits. ([livejournal.com profile] fuzzy_spork)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating: 8/10.
Summary: Sophia and Bertie argue.
Notes: I've not actually heard the phrase "if the glove fits" before, and so have taken it as an American idiom of "if the cap (or shoe) fits, wear it."  Sorry if that's not what it means, but that's what you're getting.  Also, fairly high spoiler rating because it contains the first proper reference of a future storyline.
Word Count: 947

“No Sophia, I am not angry with you, I am bloody furious with you.” )

Title:  Hope and Despair.
Prompt:Vivaldi's "Spring"  ([livejournal.com profile] tatdatcm)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 9/10.
Summary: This is spoilery, even though I don't mention what exactly has happened, so read at your own risk.
Notes: I know this reads as being very choppy and disjointed, but I think that fits with what is going on at this point in time, and how this character feels.  You'll see what I mean when I get there in the story.
Word Count: 230

The conductor was planning on revisiting Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, which was one of his favourite suites. )

Title:  No-Title.
Prompt: An awkward meeting ([livejournal.com profile] hbcirce)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating: 10/10.
Summary: This is hugely spoilery so no summary.  Read at your own risk.
Notes: No names and I have removed all identifying characteristics, but at some point in the distant future a scene very similar to this will appear.
Word Count: 451

You don't even get a snippit here. )

Title:  A Hero's Reward.
Prompt: Stanley's first kiss ([livejournal.com profile] peasant007)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating: 0/10.
Summary: Stanley plays the hero..
Notes: I don't really have anything to say apart from I'd forgotten how much fun it is to write young Stanley.
Word Count:828.

Without pausing to think more, he wrenched off his boots and slid down the bank into the water. )

Title:  Alone At Last.  Or Bethany's First Kiss.
Prompt: Left alone together ([livejournal.com profile] bellemistoire)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating: 0/10.
Summary: What happens when a visit runs out of tea.
Notes: Only real thing to note is that I used the word "queer" in the Victorian sense that means insane.
Word Count: 688

"It seems that when one’s butler is sick, the efficiency of one’s household plummets.” )

Title:  Burnt
Prompt: Burning the food for an important dinner. ([livejournal.com profile] silverbelle1220)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 8/10.
Summary: Clockwork lets a certain person down.
Notes: Fairly high spoiler rating due to the fact it references something in the future.  Also, I've not found any reliable facts for how long a bottle jack runs.  The Victorian Farm which was shown a few years ago, had 10 minutes between windings, but whether that is due to the age of the bottle jack used or a usual amount of time, I can't say.
Word Count: 310

Pausing only to grab the thick cloth she used to protect her hands from the hot metal, she wrenched the screen round, turning the meat away from the searing heat of the fire. )

Spoiler rating: 0/10.
Summary: Rosie spends some time with her mother.
Notes: First of three drabbles I have ready to post.  Sorry in advance for the f-list spam.
Word Count: 612.

Title:  Space
Prompt: "You remind me so much of your father." ([livejournal.com profile] leilia)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 8/10.
Summary: John and his son.
Notes: Only a quick little drabble this time.  Again, I could polish this more, but I like the ideas I have going on in it.
Word Count: 651.

"That house is the house where your grandfather was born and grew up. Would you like to grow up there?”  )

Title:  Haste

Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 6/10.
Summary: A first time father's frantic flight through the night.
Notes: So, the actual in game footage of this has been posted in a picspam, but this is how I see generation six making it's appearance in the story.
Word Count: 1,077.
