Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 5/10.
Summary: Mickey and his date heading to a family picnic.
Notes: This is the first look at Micknor, in my story wooooo!  Thank you Katy for her.
Word Count: 338

Mickey looked up at the glowering clouds and rapidly reassessed his brother’s assertion that it would not rain. “We are going to get drenched,” he said to his companion. Eleanor looked up at the sky too. “Do you have an umbrella?”

Mickey grimaced. “No. I did not think to pick one up. Did you?”

“No,” she admitted. “I expected you to. I thought all Simlish people carried an umbrella about their person in case of a precipitation based emergency.”

“Are you mocking my speech patterns?” Mickey shot her an amused look.

“I would never do such a thing!” Eleanor smirked at him.

“Then please accept my sincere apologies for jumping to a conclusion which was obviously false.” He put his hand over his heart and bowed in mock apology. She snorted and moved closer to him, holding his arm tightly. “Do you think your brother will cancel the picnic if it does rain?”

Mickey laughed. “Zane? No. He’ll insist we take shelter until the shower passes. Either that or he’ll make us decamp to a tearoom somewhere. Family is too important to him for him to cancel a get together due to the weather.”

Eleanor nodded and they walked on in amiable silence. They hadn’t gone far when the first, fat, rain drop fell. Grabbing Eleanor’s hand, Mickey started to run, pulling her along as the heavy rain pattered on the ground around them. By the time they reached a building with an awning over its porch, they were soaked through. Mickey pulled Eleanor under the cover and put his arms around her. When he felt her shaking, he thought at first that she was cold from the rain, it took him a minute to realise that she was laughing. Once he realised that, he couldn’t stop himself from joining in too, so they stood there, soaked to the skin, laughing their heads off on some stranger’s porch. Years later, they would reflect that there were worse ways in which to realise they were made for each other.
