But now that I have the customs I can make the default skins myself. Maybe that will make it work? IDK. I've made defaults before and they seem to work fine. I'll try doing that this week.
Also I'm wondering if you are planing to make supernatural replacements? I have a certain green heiress that would look lovely in your skins! ;D
Quick reply, since I'm at work, but I can always send you my original bmps if you want, that way you should avoid pixelation. They are quite big folders, but I can put them on my box for you if you want.
I've already got an alien and a vampire default replacement here: http://disemporium.dreamwidth.org/5885.html but again, if you want the bmps to make your own, I can send them to you.
Snagged. I know I have some of them from before, but I really like the Lily skintone for an S1 default. It's so hard to see the difference between S1 and S2 sometimes :)
Oh my gosh, Di, these look magnificent. I can't wait to try them out. Just a few questions, because I'm dumb with skin tones:
1. So just to clarify, if I have Lily in as my S1 default, and Dark in as my S4 default, and I have all of the geneticized skins, I could have born in-game Sims with Pale or Cafe skins? If so, this would be absolutely awesome and you would win the Internet for years. I've always wanted a nice creamy Maxis style skintone with a really decent dark S4 and some intermediate skin tones. You don't even know how much.
2. If I have the geneticized skins and the default skins, do I need the custom skins too?
3. Are these barbie, semi-barbie, or what? I play with the censor blur on anyway, but after SimDoc's "wardrobe malfunction," I feel I have to ask. I don't even mind if it's semi barbie or non-barbie; I only worry about those high Lyran nipples conflicting with AAS meshes. But I'm sure you've been there.
Cannot wait to try these, OMG so excited. They probably won't wind up in SC, because that's nearly done, but there's a real chance they could be in the next project.
1) yes, exactly. The game will now add them to the normal range of skintones when deciding which one to give to the child. *nodnod* That's exactly what I wanted when I made my defaults, and when Widget said she wanted extra tones, it was an excuse for me to get on with a couple of ideas I had for skintones.
2) Nope, don't download the custom skintones too. The custom and the geneticised are the same file, but I changed a line in the genetic one. Having the two types in, will cause conflicts.
3) They are semi-barbie. Females have nipples, but they are pretty faint, and don't show on any tops I've tried, so there shouldn't be the same problem as with the Lyran skins.
I hope you like them when you see them in game too. :D
Wait, so if I want my Sims to have a blend of Lily and Dark (Cafe or Light) I can add the Cafe and Light to my game and my kids might be born with that instead of just having my default S1 or S4? So, if I want that, I need to download the geneticized, right?
Yes, exactly. If you have lily-S1, S2, S3, dark-S4 AND cafe-genetic AND Light-genetic in game, and have a sim with S1 and a sim with S4 have a baby, the baby could have S1, S2, light, S3, cafe or S4 as a skin tone. And yes, you need the genticised files for that to work.
You know I have largely been happy with my Maxis skins just because I don't like how shiny most of the defaults are. I might have to try these out though because it would be nice to have an extra few in the range and I like how much darker your s4 is vs. the Maxis version. Perhaps I will play with them later.
*nods* the shininess of so many custom skins is what put me off them when I saw them in game, so I deliberately made these nice and matte and creamy. *nods* You can always take them out if you don't' like them. :D
Thanks. :D You can have the geneticised ones with the defaults, but I think it's a bit redundant to have two different versions of a skintone in game myself. I currently have lily and cafe as geneticised and the other four as defaults.

Oh well... Maybe the non-defaults will work? *downloads*
