Townies!

Soooo, all the townies are in and (nearly) all the npcs are created and made over.  I'm still missing some, but I can wait and make them over as the game generates them (in both hoods).

This is what my to do list looks like now:

  • Finish the rotation:
    • Finish playing the halls.
    • Play the Legacy Society.
  • Back up N004.
  • Put down the stay put shrub in the VPLs.
  • Move out the girls of the VPLs.
  • Package up the lot.
  • Install the lot as a clean lot in a rubbish hood and make sure I can get into it.
  • Repeat for the LS.
  • If I can’t get into either lot, then I need to install an earlier version and paint new portraits.
  • Add the VPLs and LS to N002 and N003.
  • Back up N002 and N003.
  • Make a list of stats and skills for the main sims.
  • Add my simself to N002.
  • Add the new townies a section at a time.
    • Random Townies (19)
    • Downtownies: (19)
    • Holiday locals:
      • Simmouth: (10)
      • Takemizu: (10)
      • Highlands (10)
    • Tourists: (16)
    • AL townies:
      • Bohemians (slummy): (10)
      • Techies (clean steampunk): (5)
      • Gearheads (dirty steampunk) (5)
      • Socialites (posh) (5)
      • Jock (sporty) (5)
    • Dormies: (25)
  • Check what hacks I need in to make the BV tourists and locals function properly.  I know I also need to make sure I have the hack in that allows for fewer tourists than the game is expecting.
  • Generate and change the clothing on the NPCs.
  • Once all townies are in back up N002.
  • Repeat for N003.
  • Add my sims to N002.
  • Fix stats, skills, relationships etc.
  • Paint any new portraits.
  • Take pictures to use in making cc portraits.
  • Make cc portraits.
  • Fix ages and get the seasons to where they need to be to start the next rotation.
  • Back up N002.
  • Throw big party because it will be DONE!!!!!!

Yes, that's right.  I'm at the point where I can start adding my own sims into the game.  But first, I promised some pictures of my shiny new townies, so that's what you're going to get.  These come from a mix of the real hood and dummy hood.

These are some of the female dormies I've made, settling into Princess Beatrice House.  (Lucille, the second from bottom is the sim I used to add all the dormies.  once I've moved some of my sims into the uni hood, I'll move her out of PBH and make her into a dormie too.)

This is my animal control officer (with a masseuse in the background).  My exterminator is in a similar outfit, but with a different coat, waistcoat and trouser texture.

Ok, I can honestly say, that the pictures that follow are the reason I've taken such an insane amount of time and spent so much effort on this rebuild.  Seeing sims that look like this, wandering round lots that look like this, is, to me, amazing.  And I love it, and that I've managed to do this.

Making sims into tourists and locals was a bit of a faff, and I really wanted to make sure they all worked, so SimDi and Indy got to go on a couple of holidays.  Thankfully, it all seemed to work well.

One of the best things about making my own sims, is that I can have the children in a townie family actually be the spawn of the parents.

I also tried something quite new and made my own hobby leaders.  I'm really pleased with them, and they started giving me plot ideas.  I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not.  XD

And that is all for my sneak peek at the new inhabitants of my neighbourhood.  I hope you enjoyed it and that you'll enjoy seeing them in the background of my story as much as I will.  The next step is to start adding my main family, and I can hardly wait.  :D

My gosh, Di. These are amazing!

Thank you. I'm pleased with them. :D

They are terrific :D
Congrats on all your hard work and on getting to put your main family in :)

Thank you. I'm very pleased with how the new hood is looking. it all seems worth it.

:D They're all in! I need to take pictures for portraits and fix everything, but the sims are in the hood. I'm now starting wo work my way round the rest of the neighbourhood.

Looks good, Di! It's always nice when your Townies actually have recessive genetics and fun stuff like that.

Also, LOL at Indy and his photobombing.

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-17 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I completely agree. It's one reason why I decided to do this. :D

Yeah, Indy wasn't all that impressed I wasn't taking lots of pictures of him.

Oh, and your simself and her husband are now in the hood. Her first action was to leap into his arms. It's so nice to see that some things just don't change.

It's amazing the amount of work you put into this. Your dedication is one of the reasons I'm always checking in to see if you've updated. (Your writing is the second reason. ;) )

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-17 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It's an insane amount of work I've put into this (I've been working on the rebuild since November. I've taken breaks, but that's when I started really working on it seriously). But I do think it's worth it, and I'm glad others like it too. :D Thanks! I'm one step closer to getting back to the story now.!

[identity profile] penguingirl03.livejournal.com 2012-05-14 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
This looks SO COOL Di!!! Really nice job with them! I love your hobby leaders (and especially the fact that the dance leader is wearing green. Jenny approves!) Also the tinkering guy with the soot on his face!

You lots look amazing and all the CC is fantastic! I can't wait to see how your legacy pictures look when you get going again!

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-17 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
thank you! I'm really pleased with them and how they look in the hood. Hee, I may have been thinking of Jenny when I made her.

thanks. I'm looking forward to getting back to it now.

They are gorgeous, Di. I love how you pay such attention to detail. I can't wait to see the new 'hoods in action. :D

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-17 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
thank you. I often think I'm mad for paying so much attention to detail, but I enjoy and that's the main thing. Me neither. I'm starting to look forward to getting to work on the next update now.

[identity profile] peasant007.livejournal.com 2012-05-14 09:09 pm (UTC)(link)
These look so awesome! I am in awe of your attention to detail!

I can't wait until you're done with your rebuild!

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-17 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. I'm just a little bit mad, but seeing everyone in the new hood makes it worth it.

me neither! I'm getting there though. I'm adding my sims at the moment, then I can fix them all and take pictures for portraits, and then I'm done!

[identity profile] lilycobalt.livejournal.com 2012-05-14 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
The new hood and new townies look amazing!

Thank you. I enjoy the work. well, I'd have to spend as much time as I do working on this hood. I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy the result of all the hard work now.

Thanks, it's nice to see it all coming together.

I absolutely love the looks of the townies! My personal favorites are the ones with soot-stained faces and the ones with black hair, medium dark skin, and Victorian garb. They really suit the time period well.

[identity profile] dicreasy.livejournal.com 2012-05-20 11:10 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, I'm very pleased with how they all look. :D

[identity profile] leilia.livejournal.com 2012-05-15 01:52 am (UTC)(link)

Why yes, you ARE amazing and deserve ALL of the pride ^.^
And I can imagine how great it must be to see all the little Victorianesque sims wandering around a Victorian city :D

Aww, thank you. I'm very pleased with how all this is coming along. The hood looks great. :D
