Six years ago today, a very nervous simmer uploaded the first chapter of her Victorian Legacy to the exchange.  Today, that same, VERY nervous simmer is uploading the latest chapter to Authorstream.  Click on the picture to go to my Dreamwidth to read it.  Enjoy and erm, Happy Legaversary?

Comments (if you should so wish to comment), can be left here or over at my Dreamwidth.

I'm not procrastinating today.  Honest.  Ok, maybe I am, but I'm being productive with it, and this bit of procrastination, should hopefully help me with my writing.  You see, what with the rebuild of doom last year, I've spent quite a lot of time, not thinking about my characters, and so now that I'm trying to get on with my story, I'm stumbling slightly at times when it comes to remembering how characters speak or act.  Now Emmi won't really appear in this chapter, but I've been thinking a lot about her look as a teen, and as an adult recently, and that has been helping me to re familiarise myself with her as a character.  Partly for my own reference, and partly because some of you might be interested, I thought I'd jot down my thoughts here.
Some waffle and pictures on Emmi )

So, I’ve finished playing my rotation, and rather than getting straight on and making my backups, I decided to get everyone’s pictures up to date for the Who’s Who and family tree, so head on over to them to see everyone who has become an adult recently and also a few sims you’ve not met yet. I spent an enjoyable few hours making sims of extended family members for both Sophia and Lauren and Sir Horace, and as is often the case, seeing the sims helped me to cement some of the aspects of their characters in my mind. Have a drabble that came to me this morning concerning one of them.

Title:  Gweneth
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 2/10.
Summary: Sarah Jane attends a formal ball with Sir Horace.
Notes: The incident with the bishop is entirely fictional, and I've taken a liberty by making it seem that Disraeli and Gladstone swapped in and out of power more than they actually did.
Word Count: 993.

“Horace, there you are! I knew you would skulking somewhere around here!”  )

Title:  Out of Paris
Prompt: The latest fashion ([livejournal.com profile] esmeiolanthe)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 2/10.
Summary: Sarah Jane orders a new gown.
Notes: I don't really have anything to say about this, apart from, halfway there and enjoy.
Word Count: 686.

“This is the … latest fashion out of Paris you say?” )

Title:  Bragging.
Prompt: Sister-in-law.  ([livejournal.com profile] mzyra)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating: 8/10.
Summary: Ezra and Bethany are having tea with Sarah Jane..
Notes: Only a short one this time.  I might do more with this and make it into a scene at some point.  Also fairly high spoiler due to references to something upcoming.
Word Count: 241.

Surely by now she would have realised that Bethany cared little for titles and the company that Sarah Jane kept these days? )

Title:  Switch it on.
Prompt: Getting used to electricity.  ([livejournal.com profile] rosefyre)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  0/10.
Summary: Stuart ponders electricity.
Notes: Ever had an idea you really like, but can't quite get down on paper well enough to satisfy you?  Well that's what's happened with this drabble.  It takes place in Marina's universe, not that long after Stuart arrives there.  I could see this happening very clearly, but can't get the words right to convey everything I want to.  Despite that, I'm posting it anyway, because I really want to get to prompt 16 by the end of the month.
Word Count: 509.

Neither had been able to see the idea catching on anywhere, and dismissed it as a fad. )

Title:  More than that.
Prompt: Robert courting Emmi.  ([livejournal.com profile] penguingirl03)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  8/10.
Summary:  Robert arrives to take Emmi to the theatre.
Notes: I've put quite a high spoiler rating on this, since a version of this scene will appear in a future chapter, and it also refers to some of the events in Emmi's tale, even if it is obliquely.  Also, you'll notice that there's no mention of a chaperone in this part of the scene.  Emmi wouldn't think of one, and Robert is from a place where they aren't common place.  As for the other person in the scene, well she hasn't had chance to insist on tagging along yet.
Word Count: 986.

Today, the tune she was playing was upbeat and bouncy, and he took that to be a good sign that she was looking forward to their date. )

Title:  Images.
Prompt: The oddest place Christopher has ever painted.  ([livejournal.com profile] tatdatcm)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  5/10.
Summary:  A musing by Christopher.
Notes: I'm putting this as a 5 because it refers to how Donna came to be in my game, but that's no surprise to anyone who has read some of Pen's drabbles, or one of my drabbles from a couple of years ago.
Word Count: 354.

He had sat on the hot metal, a canvas propped in front of him. )

Title:  Argument.
Prompt: "That is unacceptable" ([livejournal.com profile] superfr0g)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating:  8/10.
Summary:  Sophia goes to see her father.
Notes: This is fairly spoliery in that, although this scene won't be in the next chapter the events that count as the build up and aftermath will be.
Word Count: 616.

"Why should my sister sacrifice her happiness, in order to look after a selfish, ill-mannered man?!”  )
dicreasy2: (Vicky)
Title:  The End.
Prompt: Connor and Vicky. ([livejournal.com profile] docnerd)
Rating: PG.
Spoiler rating:  0/10.
Summary:  Vicky makes an important decision.
Notes:  I was pleased to see this prompt since it allows me to fill in some of the blanks with Vicky's story.  I also think that some of this is stilted, but my brain is a bit fuzzy at the moment, so I'm going to post this as it is.
Word Count: 593.

Her desire for him was like a physical ache and when he was near, he made her blood sing. )

Title:  Fish.
Prompt:Sophia and Lauren as children/Sophia and Lauren as children/Mother/daughter bonding time ([livejournal.com profile] rosefyre/[livejournal.com profile] scribal_goddess)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  0/10.
Summary:  What the prompts say.
Notes:  I've been starting at this for days, and have edited it several times, so I decided it was time to post.  Oh and this gives me Myshuno.
Word Count: 338.

“Sophia, you will get your dress wet.” )

Title:  Angles.
Prompt: Bowler Hats ([livejournal.com profile] biglenny)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  0/10.
Summary:  Stuart has a new hat.
Notes:  Just a short fin little thing showing how good the relationship can be between Bertie and Stuart.
Word Count: 385.

"Sophia insulted it only the once, which is tantamount to gushing praise from her." )

Title:  Revelations.
Prompt: Greg/Mari ([livejournal.com profile] leilia)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  3/10.
Summary:  Gregory realises something rather important.
Notes:  This takes place a couple of years in the future to where I am now.  The incident with the fishing rod, is from a drabble I had planned for last year's Myshuno! but never got round to writing.
Word Count: 1,052.

He thought that she was quite possibly the sweetest girl of his acquaintance. )
dicreasy2: (Stuart)
Title:  Future plans.
Prompt:"My future is with you." ([livejournal.com profile] smoothiesims.)
Rating: U.
Spoiler rating:  6/10.
Summary:  Stuart thinks about the future..
Notes:  I'm not as happy with this as I want to be.  This prompt really speaks to me, but I just can't get the words to flow how I want.  I've rewritten it several times, and there's still something about it that eludes me and I can't pin down.    Anyway, this is only part of a conversation between these two.
Word Count: 191.

“He is not your future,” )

Title:  Frustration
Prompt: Wedding night/A man's disdain for the difficulty involved in undressing his wife ~OR~ "Cannot a man simply ravish without wading through yards of taffeta?" (regacylady.)
Rating: This is fairly suggestive, so 15 I guess.
Spoiler rating:  1/10.
Summary:  Ezra discovers that consummating his marriage is more difficult than he anticipated.
Notes:  This takes place during the last chapter and was so much fun to write.
Word Count: 563.

Ezra was frustrated )

No, your eyes are not deceiving you, I am updating after nearly a year.

Photobucket

I apologise for the blurry pictures, but it's nearly one in the morning, I have to get up at seven for work, and I can't spend any more time tonight trying to find a new hosting site.

Uploaded to a new host now, which gives better picture quality.  Hopefully this one will be better.
dicreasy2: (Default)
So there's this thing going around that looks like it might be quite fun, and will hopefully get me motivated for my story again.  (Filming is still happening very slowly, and was slowed down even more thanks to the fact that I was very ill for just over a week).

In a comment, tell me what you think is going to happen in a Victorian Legacy.  It can be something you've picked up on from my drabbles, things you know will happen, or wild speculation.  I'm screening all the comments, and won't be replying to them.  This is meant to be fun, and act as a point of reference for what you know.  It'll also let me see how good or bad a job I've been doing with setting everything up.

So have at it, and have fun.
dicreasy2: (Bertie serious)
I get the impression that I am once again trying to do too many things at once. I have a pile of mostly complete cc projects, a chapter in the works, a new writing challenge and goodness knows what else, so I thought I’d make a note of the ones I’m actively working on here.

Things I am doing )
