I've been putting off making this post but:

William and Beth died while I was playing on Saturday night.  I miss them loads, but it was time for them to go.

Thanks for being wonderful guys. The neighbourhood is not going to be the same without you.

It's that time again, I'm going to share some of many pictures that didn't make it into either part of chapter 22.  This chapter really was wrapping up Eddie's plot, and starting to lay the foundations of Bertie and Stuart's story.  There was also a lot of gameplay in it, since, well it's about time generation five became teenagers. ;)

About 80 pics for you. :) )

So that's the out-takes for this chapter, I hope you liked them.  I'm starting work on the spare story for Lysander and Rosalind next, but I don't want the gap between this chapter and 23 to be as big as the gap between 21 and 22, so hopefully it will be only a few months until we're back in Regalton.

I've been wanting to do something for this week's post at [livejournal.com profile] sim_scenes since the prompt was posted, but I've only really found the time and inspiration this afternoon.

This is cannon for the legacy, and pertains to the storyline I've just wrapped up, but I hope everyone will be able to follow it, even if they're not reading my Victorians.

+ 10 pics )

As always comments and constructive criticism are welcome.

First of all happy St George's Day everyone. :D

But today isn't just the day of England's patron saint, it is my legaversary. Two years ago today I plonked Gabe Legacy down on a blank lot in a subhood of Pleasantview. I've come a long way since then, and Regalton has been rebuilt as it's own neighbourhood, but I am still as committed to playing the family in as authentic a way as possible.

I really have no idea when the next chapter will be ready, but I do have a few small gifts for you today.

Pressie 1 )

These pictures are just to whet your appetite though, my main gift to you is a music video. You see the lyrics to Mean Bone by Slash's Snakepit really resonate with me and where I took Eddie and Marielle's story. One morning on my way to work whilst I was writing chapter 19, the song came on my CD player, making my brain come up with a video that made me laugh so much, I nearly crashed.

Here is my attempt to recreate it. It is the first time I've made a video, so it is a bit rough and ready. I'm also not happy with the quality of the upload, even though the original file is really good.

Anyway, it's here:

I've posted this here because I've gone over the character limit for comments. It's not as polished as I would like, but I'm feeling pretty shattered of an evening at the moment, and so just threw this together.

Quite a bit of writing. )

Yes indeedy, it's time for me to waffle on about my latest chapter and share some of the pictures that didn't make it.

First of all I knew that this chapter would not be a happy one for you all to read (the next one won't be great either I'm afraid) but I feel I need to do this in order to do the storyline that's been in my head since last June justice.  Sometimes I get an idea in my head that just needs to be told, and this is one of them I'm afraid.  It's not easy for me to do at all, because Eddie and his family are just sweethearts and need to be happy, but do it I must.

Pretty picturs and more talk. )

That's all the out-takes I've got for you today, but I did want to talk about a couple of other things.

I really did grin like an idiot when I saw the Stanley secret, and again when I saw Anthony and read the historical legacy secret too.  It means a lot to me that I've caught people's imaginations with my little creations.    Stanley's queue is going to get rather long, but I don't think he'll mind in the slightest.

I've been building. )

Anyway I think that's enough from me tonight.

I have a mixed bag of news about my current playing and the progress of my next chapter.

Good news is I have everything I need from the main house for chapter 18 and quite a bit of chapter 19 too.

Good news is I have everything I need from three of the other families I'm shooting for this chapter.

Bad news is I have two more to shoot with and they are quite big bits.

Bad news is one of those families is ten families away from where I currently am in the rotation.

Good news is I'm cheating a lot with the families who bore me so I'm hardly in their houses at all.  In fact I've decided to bypass the Turner household completely at the moment and play Stanley because they bore the socks off me and Stanley is Stanley.

Good news is I have next week off so I can get some serious simming done then.

As I am playing though I do have picspam for you all.
Pictures! )

One last thing I'd like your opinions on.  I would really like to do more with Vicky when she graduates.  (As if I don't have enough I want to do).  To my mind she would make a perfect investigative agent along with Rosemary, so I'm thinking about doing at least one interlude which would be her starring in a mystery.  What's holding me back is the thought that Chris and Sarah already write the wonderful Sim Spade, and although this wouldn't be a spoof and would be very different, I'm worried about comparisons, and people thinking I'm copying their idea, so what do you all think?  Yay or nay?
dicreasy2: (Default)
Yup with a new chapter up and done, it's time for some out-takes from making it.  I say some, but according to photobucket I've just uploaded 85 pictures, so I guess that should be lots?

Blather and pictures. )

So I've been feeling like I'm making no progress Sims-wise at the moment. When I think about it, I've got a lot done, it just doesn't feel like it. On the plane I managed to get the first part of Joe's punishment written (there are four parts, plus linking scenes, each taking place on a different set), and I spent hours on Wednesday and Sunday shooting that part. I've got teasers for you at the end of the post.

I've also got the outline for the next chapter done, and the plan is to start sorting pictures whilst my virus scan runs tonight. I really want to get the next chapter out before the new year.

The rotation is almost finished too: just got the two lots at Sim State and half a year at the VPLs to play, and then I'm back in the main house for the first time in well over a month. So, I've been busy, it just feels like I haven't.

The other thing I've done is my Christmas thing. No story from me this year, but I did pop into a dummy 'hood to do a massive photoshoot:

We wish you a Merry christmas... )

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow... )

One last thing before I sign off, I did kinda promise a few teasers for Joe's punishment didn't I?

Teasers? Where? )

So...

I have been meaning to post here for the past three nights with pictures of Simmouth because I've nearly finished everything I want done before Eddie goes on honeymoon, but it's just not happened yet.  Trouble is I've reached building burn out and just want to play.

That is exactly what I've done then, and had a lot of fun too.  I've finished up the uni rotation.  Elle and Sophia are ready to move back to Regalton, get married etc.  I decided to cheese Carmen since she was a serious pleasure sim, and although I re-rolled her to knowledge at the end of her second year, I just wasn't feeling it so thought I'd give her a go as grilled cheese instead.  So far she is very happy: rarely out of platinum, and has eaten 56 sandwiches.  She has now graduated and is sitting in the simbin ready for me to move her and her roommate Laura onto an empty lot.

Eddie has also graduated and it was an extremely glitchy, stalky, funny affair.

Graduation pics )
So yeah a pretty funny party all round.  Tomorrow I am going to get Theo and Stanley home, and then I can play the main neighbourhood rotation and get Eddie, Theo, Elle and Sophia married off.  I've decided to keep Stanley single, and have Rosemary carry on Robert's branch of the family.  Not my original idea, but I can't see Stanley settling down at the moment.  I'm planning on moving him into a version of the observers' house from the BC.

I will also post pictures of Simmouth either tomorrow, or Saturday.

I'm also planning on starting to sort the next chapter next week.  I would ideally like to spend this weekend playing and getting generation 5 on its way.

Hey hey, I enjoyed looking for out-takes and sharing my thoughts last chapter so I thought I'd do it again.

First of all, I know that I have said this in most of my comments, but I really, really love playing and writing the three boys.  Not a day goes by when they don't do something to amuse me.  Writing them is so easy: I was worried about writing the last chapter since I wasn't entirely happy with the outline, but once I started, the words just flowed, in fact I could have kept writing once I'd finished it.

I was also setting up three story-lines in the chapter, including the BC, and although I have to say that they're not all going to be fun and games, i hope that everyone will enjoy reading them.

I'm planning on uploading the boys after university, but since that won't be for a month or so if anyone desperately wants them before then, let me know and I'll put them up for you.

Well with both parts of chapter 14 now posted, I thought I'd share some thoughts on it and quite a few pictures that didn't make it.

First of all, I found chapter 14 very difficult to write, especially the first part, mainly because it was game-play based rather than plot based.  I find having a plot for a chapter makes things so much more fluid to write, so I came up with some character based scenes to 1 make it easier for me and 2 try to drive the chapter along.   I'm pleased with how they turned out, and I hope that you all enjoyed reading them.

Something else I wanted to do with this chapter was to start pushing Edward to the fore, whilst having William step back, but not disappear completely because there were still things I wanted him to do.  I'm happy with the balance I've struck, and I think that my readers should now feel like they know Edward, and will look forward to him taking over from William.

Ok, onto some pictures I think:

Out takes )
Gosh that's a lot of pictures, Hope you liked them.

The last few days in the main house have been rather busy, and I've had a few birthdays.

Piccies )

When I was writing chapter 13, I had a bit of trouble making up my mind what picture of Henry I should end on.

Grrr )

This is my third weekend playing this rotation at the main house, but a lot of the reason it is taking so long is because of all the time I'm spending at the shops.  I really want the fifth shop to get to level 10 before Edward takes over as heir.  It's currently at level 8 and he has three days before I send him to uni, so it will get done.

I've been neglecting Eddie's social life recently, which given that he's a popularity sim isn't very good, but I'm planning on making it up to him the next time I play.

I've got the outline for the next chapter about sorted, I'm just a tad fuzzy on some of the details, but I'll sort them out when I go through the photos properly.  It might be a two parter again, because I want to catch up with the spares before generation four hits uni.

ETA: William is now the proud owner of 5 level 10 businesses.  WOOT I am very pleased about this.  The last star came just as Di entered the shop from none other than Dorian.   D'you think he is trying to get back into her good books?
