Patron saints and presents

First of all happy St George's Day everyone. :D

But today isn't just the day of England's patron saint, it is my legaversary. Two years ago today I plonked Gabe Legacy down on a blank lot in a subhood of Pleasantview. I've come a long way since then, and Regalton has been rebuilt as it's own neighbourhood, but I am still as committed to playing the family in as authentic a way as possible.

I really have no idea when the next chapter will be ready, but I do have a few small gifts for you today.

First I have some picspam from A&A's house.

There were two birthdays while I was there. (Actually the birthdays were the reason I played the house).



David really, really looks like Anthony, but that is the Legacy Brow starting to make its presence known.




Sarah-Jane is a real mix of her parents. That is Anthony's nose and Alexandra's mouth, I think she also has the Legacy Brow.

Most of what I have shot in the main house is spoilery for the next chapter, but have a few snaps from the holiday anyway:

I also sent William and Beth on a very quick trip to Takemizu to get back the memories they lost due to the rebuild. This will not make it into the legacy.

For all you Stanley fan girls, I have a gratuitous picture to share.



(This is my new S2 skintone.  I've basically tweaked a few things so that it is more polished than the original.  I've also compressorised it so it is now 7MB in size, as opposed to 31MB.  If things carry on all four new files will be less than the size of one of the old ones).

These pictures are just to whet your appetite though, my main gift to you is a music video. You see the lyrics to Mean Bone by Slash's Snakepit really resonate with me and where I took Eddie and Marielle's story. One morning on my way to work whilst I was writing chapter 19, the song came on my CD player, making my brain come up with a video that made me laugh so much, I nearly crashed.

Here is my attempt to recreate it. It is the first time I've made a video, so it is a bit rough and ready. I'm also not happy with the quality of the upload, even though the original file is really good.

A&A currently have 4 kiddies, Christopher, Bethany, David and Sarah-Jane. Alexandra's LTW is to marry off 6 children and I'm mad enough to try it for her.

OMG! Wow. That video was so freaking awesome, and I am still cracking up about the first bit of the simself party where Doc and SimDi are rocking out hard in their lovely gowns. LOL! Really amazing. =D

Well, *technically* we don't know when Shakespeare was born; he was baptized on the 26th, so it could have been on the 23rd, 24th, or 25th. But he died on the 23rd of April, and it IS St. George's Day, and he's kind of England's permanent Poet Laureate, so nearly everybody says "screw it, let's celebrate his birthday on the 23rd."

LOVE the video Di! (Now that I've finally gotten it to work with sound. Not due to the video, I had a near computer blow up earlier and just got sound back) Anyway, the video was brilliant. And it all synced up so well with the actions! *worships Di a little for her mad skillz*

Blah, computer problems are not good, but I'm glad that you liked the video when you got the sound to work. It took a lot of work, but I'm pleased with how well I got it all lip synced. I know the animations on the talk hack very well now.

HELLOOOOO STANLEY... *cough* I just may have to ask you for your skins again because that is... very distracting. :)(I was thinking of trying your skins again, but I didn't save them from the first time.. I do love the look of them and I can't remember why I didn't keep them the first time.)

I love the video. I already gushed about it before, but I think you did a fantastic job with it.

I'll send you the links again if you want. I've finished tweaking the S1 and S2 so the bodies just look a bit more polished, and I've gotten rid of a couple of flaws that irritated me. If you do want to use them, I'll let you know when the other two are finished too.

I've grown Sarah-Jane up in bodyshop, and she is a very unique and pretty sim, if slightly haughty. She's also got the family nice point, so we will see if she acts like her mother or Anne.

As a side note, I showed the video to one of my non-simming friends (but who is nice enough to listen to me babble on when I get him cornered in my car and he has no place else to go), and he said to pass along two thumbs up. He thought it was quite awesomely done. :)

I'm definitely interested in your skins again. At this point, I'll hang and wait until you're finished tweaking them. :) I love the smoothness of them, but with the nice muscle tone.

Thank you, it did take a long time to put together I must admit. Filming and cutting together Marielle's rap at the beginning took the best part of 7 hours, but I did get quicker as I went on.

Lovely Stanley is lovely.

I love the kids I have so far, and the generation has only just begun. Because of how I play my rotation and the fact that the kids of gen 3 were so spread out, I have lots of sims who haven't started having their families yet. :)

What a great great video and a perfect way to celebrate your legaversary with all of us! I must say that I giggled the entire way through the video. Watching William play the drums ...priceless, Marielle's grovelling... glorious, and of course the simselves rocking out (ahem... Di and Doc)... fabulous. I think you did an amazing job.
