Look who got old...

The last few days in the main house have been rather busy, and I've had a few birthdays.

First up was Victoria


I think she's so pretty, and I'm loving the combination of Beth's nose and William's features.

The next day it was time for the main event:



You can see how much like George William looks now he's old.  The only facial features he got from Allyn were the nose and I think the shape of his eyes.



I still think Beth is beautiful.  I've kept her hat and a lilac dress because I think that sims work best when they have an image.  I read so many different stories that sims can meld into one.  If a sim has a particular look, for example Spider Jerusalem, then even though his face is basically face two, you see that jet black spiky hair over his eyes, and know who he is instantly.  That's why I tend to keep the hair on any simselves or legacy sims as they are in the legacy they are from.  I also try to match their clothes to how I perceive their characters to be, so Cherryh Nebula is wearing the pinkest bustle dress I could find.



I really love this couple, and I'm hoping they will be around for quite some time.

When I was writing chapter 13, I had a bit of trouble making up my mind what picture of Henry I should end on.

In the end I decided on the amused one, but I thought that I'd share the other one with you.

He does pull some of the best maniacal grr faces in my game.

Robert holds his own.  I think part of it is the Legacy brow, it's quite glowering to begin with, and when a mean sim is unhappy...

This is my third weekend playing this rotation at the main house, but a lot of the reason it is taking so long is because of all the time I'm spending at the shops.  I really want the fifth shop to get to level 10 before Edward takes over as heir.  It's currently at level 8 and he has three days before I send him to uni, so it will get done. 

I've been neglecting Eddie's social life recently, which given that he's a popularity sim isn't very good, but I'm planning on making it up to him the next time I play.

I've got the outline for the next chapter about sorted, I'm just a tad fuzzy on some of the details, but I'll sort them out when I go through the photos properly.  It might be a two parter again, because I want to catch up with the spares before generation four hits uni.

ETA: William is now the proud owner of 5 level 10 businesses.  WOOT I am very pleased about this.  The last star came just as Di entered the shop from none other than Dorian.   D'you think he is trying to get back into her good books?

Aww, Victoria's lovely! I still think she looks a lot like William, but it's probably just the hair.

I can't believe William's old! He's been around for so long it seems.. But it does suit him. And Beth is just - wow! She's such an awesome spouse. And I know what you mean about 'image', I like to keep my Sims with the same 'dos and similar clothes to keep them 'them'. And it is so useful when transfering between Legacies, I mean, I couldn't have Anne any other way in my game other than in one of her many dresses! Hmm, I need William too. To the exchange!

Your guys really do bring the 'grr', don't they? I think that you chose the right picture of Henry though, his reaction made me laugh in a 'oh, you crazy fool!' kind of way.

I'm rubbish at giving teens a social life for some reason, I try not to feel too bad about it anymore ;)

Yeah, she definitely takes after her father.

I've just gone into my old photos file to find the one I took of William's birth, and he has been around for ages: he was born on 10th July last year. I am so used to him (and Beth) being about, I'm going to be devastated when they go, not that that will be any time soon, given how slowly I'm playing lately. I'll upload him for you once I've finished playing for the afternoon.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to keep her sims in the same clothes and hair forever. I read about simmers saying that they change sims clothes everyday, because it makes it more real, but I get muddled reading stories where that happens.

I'm pleased I went for that picture too, the grr one just didn't feel right.

I'm going to edit above but, William has now opened, and owns 5 level 10 businesses. I just got the last one to 10 a few minutes ago. I'm very excited about it.

The Brow definitely helps the "grr"-faces look extra-grrrtacular.

SJ is mostly face 2, but he got the Jaw and the Cheekbones from Cypress.

Thank you, I'm very pleased about the businesses: it's the first time I've attempted it, and I did wonder if I could do it.

Cherryh is in your game? Yay! I can't wait to see her when the story is ready for it.

The oldsters do look quite nice. Now I miss George, seeing William look so much like him...

I definitely like Robert's grr face. The fact that he shares the look with Henry really ties the family together! As did the George/William resemblance. It's a good thing. We all know our own sims quite well, enough to recognize them in other clothing. But our readers, maybe not so much. Clothes are an excellent clue. At the very least, color, as in Cherryh, or hairdo, as in Spider. You have a very good point there.

Yep, Cherryh and Cassidy are the resident aliens in the 'hood. I have been trying to get Robert abducted, but it's not worked and soon he will be too old.

The night William and Beth aged, both George and Allyn were out haunting and it made me realise how much I miss the two of them.

I love seeing the different resemblances between sims in my game. At the greek houses I have all the portraits next to each other, and I love that you can instantly see that they are all related.
