SimStoCreMo 2013: the prologue

Well, ok not a prologue, but SimStoCreMo 2013 starts tomorrow, and so I thought I would make a leeetle post outlining my goal before I start.

Goal:

Complete the shooting scripts for chapters 24.5 and 25.

Starting point:


Chapter 24.5:  2/14 sections written totalling 45 slides (holy carp this chapter is going to be HUGE).

Chapter 25: 2/4 sections written totalling 17 slides.

Yes, chapter 24.5 covers a lot, but I might cut it down some, so it might not be 14 sections long in the end. Also, yes 25 is short, but that's very intentional.  I want to start putting out shorter chapters to get through this big piece of my plot, rather than the mega chapters I've been writing.  if I get it right, chapter 24.5 will be the last mega chapter for a while.

Important announcement for Win 7 users!

So the newest Win 7 update (Platform update for Windows 7 x64 edition KB2670838) can seriously fuck up your game.   More information here but the update is forcing some users' TS2 into the lowest graphics settings (800x600 resolution, no edge smoothing) with no option to change it.

It happened to me this evening, (I have an ATI graphics card, for the record), making me panic lotsly and face the prospect of having to give up playing, let alone telling a story with TS2.  I can confirm that uninstalling the update works.  My game is back to normal and I'm no longer panicking.
