They really are going to be great and I can't wait for it.
It was a very common attitude at the time. Women were seen as extensions of their husbands and were expected to look to their husbands for their understanding of the world, and what they should believe and think.
I really must get my head back into the place where I can finish up my reading and get to work on that meta I keep promising, because it is a fascinating (and scary) area.
