Date: 2012-02-13 07:26 pm (UTC)I think if you see the original, you can see how much it influenced us, and how well certain people fitted their roles, but we did want to make the story work for non-Who fans as mush as it works for Whovians.

Date: 2012-02-11 09:24 pm (UTC)First off, yay! Still love the idea, will always love the idea, the idea = win. :D And how the apocalypse rules and their personal histories are integrated!
I love how the beginning was all pictures and no words - the idea of what was happening got across, and we also got to see the parallel stories.
Heh, I spot some of Stuart's relatives as guests at Elle's wedding to Tristan. *amused*
Still impressed that you managed to film the taxi scene.
Oh, Mya. *shakes head* It wasn't Elle's fault, dude. And pressuring her like that is just going to make her break down. Elle's not really capable - at this point at least - of dealing with everyone pushing her all at once.
Love how they're eating on the chess table as well as at the real table so everyone can fit. Also love how the younger sims are crammed in the back of the pickup truck.
Ouch on Tristan grabbing a football that is so clearly Bertie's. *pokes Tristan with a spork*
Love the description of a Very Bad Thing. :P
You know, if Tristan weren't evil, I'd feel bad at how left out he is when Elle and Stuart are talking and exploring and stuff.
How'd you get the big thing of yellow liquid and bubbles to work?
...Yeah, leaving the big empty hole in the ground completely open with nothing blocking it is really not a good plan. Also, Raikov is an ass, not even mourning his friend at all.
Love the simselves arresting Raikov and Riku being the new general.
I'm glad Billy could take the heirship from Elle, though that's obviously not an option in the actual story. But in this verse, it makes sense, and I'm glad he offered. :D
Loved it, guys!

Date: 2012-02-13 07:43 pm (UTC)The idea just works so well. I loved it when Marina pmed me, and I love it still.
*nodnod* Yeah that was something we were both very keen to do. I don't think that words would have added anything to those beginning slides.
:D Picking extras was fun. Although they're Stuart's relatives, they're also characters that Elle is going to become good friends with in my universe, and we both liked the idea of using them as friends at the wedding. Plus, they're not related to Stuart in this story.
The taxi scene was one I was worried about. It's such an important part of the original story, that I had to try to make it as good in ours. I did reshoot some of it, because it just wasn't working, but what I ended up with, I think is good.
Mya was in full dragon mode for a lot of this, which worked with her being Sylvia, but yeah. Poor Ellie. I tried to shoot it so that it did feel like everyone was getting at Elle, leading up to her breaking down. Donna "broke down" for sympathy and to deflect the accusation that she did it on purpose. Ellie breaks down because she really doesn't know what happened, and it's too much for her, that those who should be supporting her, are badgering her. Plus it allows Stuart to see the dynamic, and to feel for her.
:D Yep, I wanted to cram them all in there, but at the same time, make it seem normal. That Dom goes and eats at the chess table, and is used to it, because of the small living space.
Yeeeeeeah. Tristan doesn't know boundaries there, plus it allowed us to explain what happened with Bertie.
That's one think that stayed in from the first draft I sent to Marina of that scene. XD
*nods* I shot it purposefully to show Ellie and Stuart getting closer without either of them realising it.
The water tank was actually very simple. There're a couple of table lamps from NL, hidden by the pipe that goes through the middle of the tank. They're what give that chamber the eerie yellow glow, and then the bubbles were photoshopped in.
Agreed on Raikov beaing an arse. It just shows that he's willing to do anything for his perceived mission.
:D That was Marina's idea and I loved it when she suggested it.
*nodnod* I was very happy when Marina suggested that as a solution. :D
Thanks Rose!
