Ponies!

As some of you may know, the new series of MLP:FiM started at the weekend.  I was worried about when I would get to see it, but thanks to Youtube, I was able to watch the two-part opener Sunday morning which is great.  I'm hoping I'll be able to find the rest of the series on Youtube too.

Anyway, I really enjoyed it.  It made me realise how much I'd missed it (even though, yes I know I can still watch the episodes on Youtube whenever I want), and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.

I've posted a little about the ponies I have before, but I don't think I mentioned that I have all the mane 6 now.  I found Rarity and Twilight Sparkle in Sainsbury's near work back in July, and snapped them up.  It's a good job I did, since they've not had any MLP toys in since August, just fake ponies which look more like G1s.  I did their hair within a couple of days of having them, using countschlick's tutorials but forgot to take pictures.  Unfortunately, neither of their hair stayed as I wanted it to, and so about a month back, I reset them, and they ended up looking like this:

As you can see, Rarity's curls had already started to collapse, but a month on, they're not that much worse.  I will probably reset  her again.  I did get her nearer to the bulb this time around, and her hair has stayed put better than my first effort.  Twilight's hair has since bounced up a little bit, but I'm very pleased with how she turned out.

So that's 6 G4 ponies, and I also ordered the cutie mark crusaders, last night, so hopefully I'll get them by the weekend.

But, these aren't the only ponies in my life.  I've still not asked Dad to get my original toys out of the loft (so scared as to what condition they're in), but yesterday, this exciting box arrived for me at work:

I was very excited to see it, but had to wait until I was home before I could open it.

Inside were lots of polystyrene peanuts:

And tucked safely inside those, was a well wrapped object:

(Twi has a habit of turning to look towards me, I must keep knocking her or something, but I love how she, Pinkie and Fluttershy look like they are looking at the package with curiosity).

Inside that was Butterscotch!

The lovely, lovely, lovely [livejournal.com profile] profbutters was at EQLA, where a lady was selling off her G1 collection.  Prof saw Butterscotch and thought of me, because she is lovely.  As those of you who read this post may remember, Butterscotch is one of the ponies I had (and still have in the loft) as a child.  Either her or Peachy was the first pony I got (I got both as part of playsets, and the UK release dates were slightly different to the US dates, so it's difficult for me to be sure), and I have very, very fond memories of her.  I showed her to my mum this evening, and she too remembers me playing with my Butterscotch as a child.  Like I say above, I do still have my Butterscotch, but I dread what sort of condition she is in, having been kept in the loft for about twenty years.  I doubt that she's in as good a condition as the Butterscotch though.  This one is immaculate, apart from a bit of wear where she was loved and played with (and since ponies are meant to be loved and played with, I'm glad that her cutie mark is a tad faded and her hooves are dirty).

Anyway, she is gorgeous, and I love her, and I'm so grateful to Prof for thinking of me when she saw her.

Here she is, settling in with my G4s.

That's it for now I think.  I might post again when the CMC get here, and I'll have to post once I've styled Applejack's hair.  I've also decided that I will have to post if I get my G1s down from the loft, even if they're in really bad condition.

...Now I need to go into my basement and see if I still have my Ponies. Hopefully they didn't get sold off during a yard sale at some point...

Your ponies seem to be looking at that package and saying "Dun dun dunnnn!"

Aw. I'm so glad you like her! As you can tell, I was a weeny bit concerned about packing her safely, but wouldn't it have been a shame to have that lovely pony arrive mangled or something? I'm just glad Homeland Security or somebody didn't decide "Hah! It says "pony toy" on the Customs Form! It can't be that simple!"

Your RD looks great. She's the only one I haven't styled yet--I'm a little paranoid about cutting her hair. Then I have to do the CMC, and I'm even more worried about doing their hair, especially Scoots.

Hehe, ikr? I did giggle when I noticed the ponies were looking at the package.

I love her! Thank you so, so much. :D She arrived in perfect condition, and I don't blame you for wanting to make sure she was safe. You just don't know what sort of handling packages are going to get when they travel so far.

RD was very nervewracking to do, and I wasn't pleased with her at first. however, now I am, and I think she looks good.

Yeah, I'm really worried about doing the CMC too. And I'm more than a little displeased that the flower girl headdresses and bouquets have marked (and in Sweetie Belle's case, stained), my CMCs. *shakes fist at Hasbro*
