Silly sims

I've not really had chance to play the last week, but today, once I'd finished doing some boring RL bits, I decided to fire up the game and see if I can get at least one of the weddings I need for the next chapter played and shot.  Simple right?

Err, no.  My sims had other ideas.

First up...

Stanley I swear to God that if this back rub had of resulted in floating hearts, I would have bloody well smited you, whether I am meant to have those powers or not.

Next...

"You forgot to change my formalwear!"

Damn, yes I did.

A quick x-ing out of the marriage interaction, making Doc selectable and changing her formalwear later, and I was ready to go again.

Only no one seemed to care.  *sigh*  A lot of making selectable and x-ing out actions ensued.

I am so going to have to download one of the hacks that stop the M&G sun interactions.  Sims bask in the sun even when doing something else making them appear to be posessed.

Of course some other sims had better things to do than watch the ceremony.

"Can't see, Papa's in the way."

"Yes, but he's nummy when he is blocking your view."

"Nummy...."

Ouch, poor Stuart (yes he is now a child) and Andrew managed to impale themselves on the chairs

Aaaand Carmen found that nothing was blocking her way.

Once inside Peter sought out Stanley.

This is very common, all the kids adore Stanley and seek him out to speak to.  I dread to think what he talks to them about.

Oh and while Peter was talking to Stanley, I noticed something:

I had an invisible piano player.  A search of the house revealed that everyone was accounted for, so I have no idea what this was about.

Stanley was happy to take the money though.

If you remember a while back I posted how Stanley wasn't happy about how Louisa and Cyd were romantically invloved.  Well, neither is Rosie.

She was fine at the ceremony, but as soon as she saw this, well all hell broke loose.

Four times I caught her doing this, before I managed to get Louisa there to say goodbye to Rosie.  I really am going to have to go through her memories and friends and see if I can find out what this is about.

Mind you, when I saw Cyd do this, I wondered if a certain simself would have a go at him.

Speak of the devil.

Yup these two are still incredibly stalkery.

Well that's it for now.  Louisa and Cyd are married and she is pregnant already.  I have 3 more weddings to get through before I'm in the main house to get the last few bits I need for the chapter there.  IOh and I have to shoot a few things on a couple more lots, but I am getting there, honest.

Oooh, is that what all this rolling eye business is about? Basking? I see! I'm quite a fan of the coming-outside-action ones (except when they do them when running when I'm trying take pictures grr) but I didn't know about the basking. Oh well, it made for good plague pictures!

What a wedding, eh? But fun to read about :D Glad you got there eventually Di! Good luck with the rest.

Yarss it's the sims basking in the sun. I don't mind the animation that much, unless they are doing something other than the full animation, or are looking straight ahead. when that happens you get the awful possessed eyerolling.

I really did think that it would be a simple wedding, but no, it wasn't. At least it was funny. :D

Oh god I hate basking so much, there's a hack that stops that? That and that stupid putting their hand over their eyes whilst walking outside.

Of course kids love kooky uncle Stanley! Kooky uncle Stanley teaches them tricks on picking up ladies.

Stuart is an adorable kid, I can.. vaguely spot the differences between him and his brother, but I actually had to read the text to know it was him for sure. Yay for stompinating the witches genes!

There's a couple about. This one at MTS2 stops just the basking: http://nene.modthesims2.com/download.php?t=327040 and no shade eyes salute by TwoJeffs at Simbology stops at least the eyeshading. Reading the blurb it says that it the overlay animations, so it might also stop the basking. I think I'll test this one out and see how it goes.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure that is what he talks to them about. I have seen the kiss speech bubble while he's been talking to Bertie before.

Hehe, I had to look at the picture twice before I wrote the caption. Main differences between the boys are different haircut, Stuart has a lighter skin tone, different eye brows (even though the brow is the same) and a different chin. From a distance it's the hair you have to look for.

This was hilarious to read, but I'm sure it was aggravating as h--- to shoot. But thanks for sharing with you. I hope the other two weddings work out better. If you find that hack, please let me borrow it. I've noticed my sims doing the same and wondered if it was the game or their cc eyes.

It was a case of "what now?" when I was playing tonight, but it is funny really. I've linked to a couple of hacks in the reply to Katy above. I'm going to try the Simbology hack I think: I've never gone wrong with anything by TwoJeffs, and I prefer to keep the number of hack creators down to try to minimise conflicts.

Thanks. I think I'll wait and see how it works for you. But I appreciate the info!

Hee! I have no idea what's going on, but it's nice to see Stalkery SimNerd and Nummy Theo!

Stalk, stalk, stalk stalk.

SimNerd and Theo do not leave each other alone, even after three kids! I'm pretty sure that if I still had ACR in the game, they would constantly be on the verge of starvation.

Don't you just love having guests show up to the wedding in their wedding gowns? It's not as bad when a guy shows up in his wedding tux, but it's really hard to miss the unexpected wedding gown. Thank goodness for the clothing hacks that let you change stuff.

Wedding can be a real bear to shoot. Sims rarely seem to want to do what you want them to do. The reception can be easy enough because you're just letting them have fun and hang out, but the ceremony... rar.

Don't smite Stanley! My simself would be sad. :)

Carmilla would be sad, too. She just got Stanley as a well-drop. Again. Their skanky romance is Meant To Be, I suppose.

Of course, this is Stanley. He never knows when to quit. :D

Hehe, I totally forgot that the last wedding Doc was at was her own. Thank goodness I could change her, especially since Louisa didn't marry in a wedding gown, but rather her Sunday best.

I managed to get almost everyone outside, but then they would rather dance or interact with each other. I do wish that it was easier to get everyone sitting down and watching the ceremony.

*snort* Lots of sims would have been sad if I had smote him.

There are only a few sims off limits to Stanley (most of them married to other sims), and Carmen is one of them. That just makes her all the more attractive to him though.

Oh, I always have Sims show up at weddings in their wedding gowns. I used to have two or three in wedding gowns at a time. Now I go around to every house and make sure *everybody* has formalwear I approve of, instead of one of those hideous suits or rather nice Far East stuff that sticks out like a sore thumb. Love the somewhat scandalous thing you changed Doc into.

I always have problems with Sims refusing to sit down during weddings. I decided to let Ruby marry Killick again, and I swear to gosh Nelson and Emerald "watched" from the garage. And applauded.

Poor Cyd! What did he ever do?

I suppose at least it was only one sim with this wedding. SimNerd really strikes me s a scarlet lady at times, especially with the way she pursues her husband. lol.

It drives me mad that sims don't sit down for weddings, this one took me four goes to get done because of the dress fiasco, and then no one sitting down and watching when I wanted them too. *sigh*

I'm not sure. I really am going to have to look at Rosie's memories carefully: I'm formulating an idea over it that involves 3 bolts and autonomy.
