So, I'm away from my computer for the best part of a day, and my f-list explodes, but in a good way. I'm totally loving reading all these 10 facts memes, and they're great fun to do too.
I've been tagged by six people, for six different sims, so here goes. :D
Character: Marielle Hutchins. (Tagged by Mikey).
1) She hasn't been back to her mother's grave since the day she buried her in a pauper's grave.
2) She grew up in the heart of the Nickel slums in Simdon, but not in the same house. Her mother and her moved as their circumstances changed, or the landlords refused to allow Mary to pay part of her rent in other ways.
3) She never knew her father. A soldier, he was killed in action when she was only a year old. It was his death that meant Mary had to find a way to support herself and a young child. She tried the factories, but in the end, she had trouble finding anyone to look after Marielle while she was at work, and the pay wasn't very good besides. She ended up working the streets.
4) Marielle is an only child, but only because Mary couldn't afford another mouth to feed.
5) She purposefully wears her hair up to emphasise her height. Likewise, every pair of shoes she owns has at least a two inch heel.
6) She only spent a few nights at her rented cottage on the outskirts of the village before she was whisked off to the asylum. It has stood empty every since, but with the rent paid for my a mysterious benefactor..
7) Her favourite colour is deep plum, and she gave the dressmaker very specific instructions for her everyday ensemble. It was, after all, the first time she actually had the money to a respected dressmaker and have a completely unique outfit made for her from scratch.
8) She has only one possession left over from her childhood, her mother's wedding ring. She has no idea why she keeps it and thinks that she should really pawn it, but she never has.
9) She says she can't cook, but that's not exactly true. When Mary was ill, she had to cook, but boiling up a manky piece of scrag-end of mutton to make a thin broth, isn't the sort of thing she wishes to repeat. Besides she thinks cooking's beneath her, since a lady employs someone to do her cooking for her.
10) She doesn't use contractions or nicknames when referring to someone. Her ex-husband is Edward, and her oldest son is Albert.
Character: Bethany Smith. (Tagged by Cait).
1) She realised at a young age that Anthony is not her and Christopher's biological father. Despite her insistence that Anthony is her father in every respect that matters, this fact still bothers her a lot. She is especially worried that no man will want to marry her because of it.
2) She has a real knack for reading situations and knowing the right thing to say and do.
3) She is as artistic as her brother, but whereas his talent lies in the visual medium, hers it literary. She is an especially gifted poet, but has never shared her jottings with another living soul. After all, women are not meant to write, and they are certainly not meant to write poetry.
4) She's a competent cook, but only likes to cook certain things: her great-grandmother Allyn's vegetable soup, as taught to her by William and Alexandra, and a variety of cakes. She makes an especially good fruit cake, using a secret blend of spices to pep it up.
5) Although she loves making them, she's actually not overly keen on eating cake. She'd rather bake them for others.
6) Her favourite flowers are lilies, but she loves most others too. If you are stuck for a gift for her, buy her a large bouquet of flowers, it'll go down a treat.
7) Although she never complained, and could see the logic in her moving into Sarah Jane's room when Zane joined the family, she wasn't happy about it.
8) She is deathly afraid of mice and other rodents.
9) Growing up in the city has made her appreciate the countryside. She like nothing better than strolling though fields on a sunny day. Because of this, she is always happy to visit her uncle and cousins in Regalton, and spend time on the common.
10) Her name is Bethany, not Beth. Beth was her grandmother, as she will point out to anyone who calls her that. There is only one person whom she permits to call her by a nickname, and you've not met him yet. ;)
Character: Stanley Legacy. (Tagged by Jamie).
1) Stanley has yet to meet a girl he isn't attracted to on some level.
2) There are however, certain girls he defines as off limits to his advances: those his friends are interested in. This is why he was put out when Eddie also expressed interest in Marielle.
3) The only reasons he isn't a little portly, is because he's a professional athlete, and he likes to look good for the ladies.
4) He can be very selfish at times, and often acts like a complete pillock when he is.
5) He is extremely protective of his female relations, mainly because he knows how men think. He's taught Rosie more than one way to defend herself.
6) He only wears a lot of green, because his sister once said he looked well in it, after the tailor had accidentally included a green waistcoat in a package of shirts Cecilia had ordered. Stanley unpacked it and put it on, not realising his mother hadn't ordered it . He then refused to let her send it back after Rosie had complimented him.
7) He has a vague, unsettling notion that there is someone he could have met by now. A pretty face with dark blue eyes haunts his dreams...
8) While he realises his house is far too big for a bachelor (he really doesn't need five bedrooms after all), he can't bring himself to move from it. There are so many happy memories for times spent with lady friends attached to the rooms.
9) At the boys' regular pub visits, he is the most likely to get drunk and need to be helped home. On these occasions, he gets very huggy.
10) He loves toast. He thinks there are very few things to beat hot buttered toast made in front of a roaring fire, with someone to help him enjoy it.
Character: Celestia Harrison. (Tagged by Widget).
1) Her hair unexpectantly turned green when she became a teenager. At first she wasn't sure about it, but now she loves it.
2) She was never really scared when she was kidnapped as a child. Cautious, yes. Apprehensive, yes. Scared, no.
3) Once she returned home, the rest of her family was loathe to let her out of their sight. Theo and Peter were especially bad. She hated that and took to sneaking off by herself, which made her family even worse. In the end she resigned herself to it, and her family soon started to give her more freedom.
4) She's very impetuous and nearly always acts first, thinks later. That's not to say she isn't intelligent, because she is, she just doesn't always engage her brain before doing or saying something.
5) She can turn her hand to anything if she wants to do it.
6) She really has no idea that she is stunningly beautiful, and expressions or gestures other women might use to get their own way, she does without guile. She just doesn't realise that she can affect the opposite sex as much as she does.
7) She adores both her brothers, but is probably closer to Peter, even if the way he still mollycoddles her annoys her.
8) She takes friendship very seriously. Once she's your friend, she's your friend for life, and she expects others to be the same. This is why she was so hurt with Derri treated her as a stranger. She hadn't given any thought to the fact they hadn't seen each other for years, and were now that much older than the children they had been.
9) The fact that she is as tall as Andrew, is a source of great amusement to her, even if it isn't to her brother.
10) Naturally graceful, she has taken ballet lessons since she was a child.
Character: Stuart Legacy. (Tagged by Marina).
1) There are two people he would travel to the ends of the earth for if they asked him to: Bertie and Ellie. These are also the two people who mean the most to him, more than even the other members of his family.
2) Since he was a small child, he's always been fascinated with how things are built and how they work. The number of mechanical toys William made for him, that he then took to bits to see how they worked, beggars belief.
3) He's a gifted pianist, but plays only because it gives him something in common with his father and sister. He'd rather be reading or tinkering, although he did enjoy the Sunday music afternoons at home very much. This was probably because the whole family was involved in them.
4) He has no memories of Marielle, and knows only what others have told him about her.
5) If he can, he wants to make things better for those he cares about, and will frequently put their feelings before his own. How he makes things better however, isn't always the best way.
6) His favourite colour is green.
7) He's never told anyone, least of all Bertie since he knows Bertie asked Eddie to get Billy for him, but he doesn't actually like dogs very much. He prefers cats.
8) He will always try to do things the right way.
9) He's deeply sentimental and has a childlike outlook on life in general.
10) He's pretty adventurous and has always wanted to travel and see the world. He was actually more pleased than Bertie, when Eddie said they were going to Takemizu as a family after Bertie made a fuss about being apart from him. The one place he would go if he could though, is the Indian sub-continent.
Character: Timothy Legacy. (Tagged by Lauri)
1) Henry tried to play his three sons off against each other, but Timothy was the only one who refused to play the game.
2) Although he'll never admit it, being brought up by a group of simselves, had a profound effect on him, and he has been heard to exclaim Shrew! on occasion.
3) His daughter Peggy has him wrapped around his little finger.
4) He truly believed that no one would want to marry him, or even have anything to do with him because of his father's actions.
5) He's a chess whiz. He had to be given the fact both his brothers and his father constantly cheat at the game. (So does he, but he got so fed up with them doing so, that he was determined to beat them without stopping to their level).
6) He hates the fact that he has to wear glasses.
7) He's the only one of his siblings who can grow a decent moustache, but he refuses to do so because he always associates a moustache with his father.
8) He was instantly attracted to Lauri, but didn't think she would like him.
9) The two happiest days of his life are his wedding day, and the day his daughter was born.
10) He's a keen cricketer and has broken many a window with a misplaced hit, or bowl.
Ok, tagging time. So many of you have already done this, I'm not going to tag five, instead I'm going to say Caaaaaaait
regacylady ) I'd love 10 facts about Ezra Howard please, and anypne else who wants to do this for a character, go ahead! It's a lot of fun!.

Yay! I think Celestia is awesome, so I'm pleased others do too. :D

Date: 2010-07-19 06:22 pm (UTC)*grins* The way I figure it, if he thought Cate special enough to marry her in Simshire, then she's going to echo into his home world.
I can't imagine him any other way.

ORLY. :D
Stanley's #4, #7, #9: HEE! (With 4, I immediately had a thought of Cate saying "See, I'm not the only one who thinks so." Hehe)
I'm with Jamie on Celestia.
I find it funny that Stuart likes cats, when William Blackthorne grew up with 6 dogs :D I wonder which Elle prefers...I think Sir Henry would have a stroke if I brought a cat into their house for her.
At first I was confused about Timothy, since as you know Stanley's son is also Timothy Legacy. Hehe, oopsie. He is very interesting, though! Yay for not playing Henry's game.

Yars, rly. :D
Hehe, I can so hear Cate saying that.
Celly is so awesome, I'm glad others think so too. :D
:D Well, so did Stuart, he's just not that keen on them. He thinks they're too big and boisterous.
Haha, no, this is for my Timothy. Growing up with the simselves really did affect him, and made him not want to pander to his father.

Date: 2010-07-18 11:59 pm (UTC)Marielle's 8 doesn't surprise me as much as it probably does her. But I'm sure a part of it is that it reminds her that her parents were married. The fact that Marielle's 3 and Stuart's 4 are similar is a bit ironic.
I loved all of Bethany's, I think she and I would get on in real life.
Ahh Stanley! (what more is there to say?)
Celestia is a great girl. I loved 3. As soon as she learned not to hide the more they were willing to let her be.
Stuart's 10 was very insightful.
I actually loved them all, but those were the ones I wanted to comment on the most. Thank you!

Date: 2010-07-19 07:58 pm (UTC)Timothy really does underestimate his own worth. He's lovely.
Yeah, that is definitely part of why she keeps hold of the ring, even if she never acknowledges it. Ikr? Both Marielle and her son didn't know a parent, you'd think she'd want to make sure he never felt like she did.
Staaaanley!
I really love Celly, so it's great to see you all responding to her so well.
You're welcome, this was fun to do. :D

Adore the fact that Timothy exclaims "Shrew!" at times.

Date: 2010-07-19 08:17 pm (UTC)Yes, the family would never have been rich, and her father would never have been any more than cannon fodder, but they would have been better off than they turned out to be. Also, she might actually have learnt to love someone other than herself if she'd gotten to know her mother in different circumstances.
Toast is fabulous. :D
Hehe, he does indeed, and it makes Peggy giggle when he does. :D
