Rotational picspam - Simdon part two
May. 29th, 2011 01:47 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I'm back with more picspam! I want to get the planned picspams finished before I start playing again, so I'm working on getting them done for you. I'm going to be changing how I do picspmas slightly for the next rotation, but more on that in the future. I've also been playing TSM and TS3 recently, and want to share my thoughts on them with you too.
But enough, waffle, on with the picspam!
Alfie's House.
We'll start with Alfie's house. I have to tell you, that he has given me a bit of a headache as I decided what to do with him. You see, I really didn't want to cheat him a lot of money so that he could have both a house and his shop we saw him buy in the story. He will be coming back you see, and it's important that he makes all his own money, that it's not cheated. So I had to have a think. In the end, I made the copy of his shop in the real hood, a residential lot, and deleted enough things that he could afford it. On moving in, he immediately asked the professor he's been seeing round and asked her to move in. This gave him a little bit more to buy a few bits of furniture and some things to sell in the shop.
It also meant that I remembered I had to do this:

That done, it was time for a wedding. I invited over the three members of his family that I knew he would want there, his brothers and mother:

This was when things started to go to pot. I didn't want him to get married at home, so decided to go for my second community lot wedding ever. Trouble is, last time I did this was about three and a half years ago, and I couldn't remember what I needed to do to have the wedding party go to the community lot with the happy couple. i thought that starting the wedding party while they were on their home lot would work, but it didn't.

Therefore Alfie got married without his family watching. This is a church by Lark, by the way, but I'm going to be swapping it out for another one which looks more in keeping with the Nickel and using a tweaked version of this one for the church in Regalton. It's awesome and thanks again to Lark for sharing it.
Without the family being there, I exited without saving, and went back home to marry them properly there.

Yeah, that also didn't go as planned:

Timothy was the only one who bothered to change and make an effort to watch, and event hen, he sat down after the marriage had taken place. *head desk* If I do want to show any pictures of Alfie getting married now, I'm going to have to stage at least some of them.

It was also almost a very short marriage. Audrey got pregnant first time, and very nearly starved to death the next morning.

If that wasn't bad enough, when I told Alfie to jump in there and finish with the cooking she'd just abandoned to tell me she was starving, he set the stove on fire.

Well done alfie, well done. Disaster was averted however, and they opened up the shops as a home business.

I do love seeing who's going to walk by.

Baby bump!

And through it all, I'm keeping her working. The shops aren't making much money at the moment, but I'm hoping that once I can start to add more stock, things will improve. Like I say above, it's important to me that Alfie earns all his own money with no cheating from me.

Whedonberry House
We're now onto the two guest sim houses. First up is that of the Whendonberrys. You'll notice that I have only dean, Derri and Cordelia in the real hood. Basically that's because I already have 1000 character files in the neighbourhood and don't want any more unnecessary sims. If I could have ahd the two boys move in on their own, I would have done.
Anyway, not much happened this rotation, although I did notice that I may have placed the violin too close to the window in the music room.

The other thing was that Derri got sent to university at the end of the rotation. Again, because of ages being set right, you'll get to see more of him later.

I don't know what dean was thinking when he followed him to wave goodbye.

But at least he made it I suppose. Cordelia made it only after the carriage had pulled off.

The Fitzhugh House.
My second guest house I have lots of pictures off. In fact the number of pictures I took here rivals the number I took of the main house. There are two good reasons for this, and I make NO APOLOGIES for them.
Those reasons? Two dates involving these two:

What follows now is gratuitous Elliart spam and again, I MAKE NO APOLOGIES. These two are the sweetest thing, and they not only haven't had an easy time of it in Marina's apocalypse, but also aren't going to have it easy in my legacy. This I do apologise for, but what can I say? Plots and me being mean have taken things in a different direction to the one they deserve.
ANYWAY on with the spam:

"So, I had a great time with you this afternoon, want to go out again?"
"Sure, why not?"

Zuzu was there to chaperone them.

Or not, as the case may be.

End Elliart sapm.
Stuart rang up twice more asking Elle on a date during the rotation. :D
Pretty lighting again:

Azula is the only sim I've tried this hair on, who's suited it.

What with having to redo Simdon, I had to have Mya sell the original Azula's Azaleas and buy a new version. I decided to send her (and just her, because I'm mad) over to the new one to start building up those stars again. The original was at level 10, I managed to get this one to level 5 before running it with just one sim got too annoying.
Have a little spam from it:

Sizing up the competition?

Shopping for flowers for a loved one?

Just as I clicked on Mya to send her home, the evil witch turned up on the lot.

"Er, excuse me..."

"Look, just GTFO."

"Gasp, you can fly!" Yeah, she wasn't at all fazed until Brenda pulled out her broomstick and flew off.
Yes Azula, you're gorgeous.

Azula and Billy don't get on very well, and I've seen her reject him a few times. (Billy actually grew up this rotation, but I didn't get a pictures of his makeover, so you'll have to wait until next time).

She does, however get on really well with Elle. She loves to pillow fight with her.

Anyway right at the very end of the rotation, just as I was about to exit the house, Azula headed off to the finishing school. She's exactly the right age, so you won't be seeing her again this picspam.

Elle was the only one who managed to make it out to wave her off:

And that's it for this picspam. Next (sims 2) spam will be the university, once I've sorted it, but there might be some TSM and TS3 spam coming first, while I feel like talking about the games. :D

Date: 2011-05-29 03:04 pm (UTC)I must mention how much I LOVE your neighborhoods. Even just the glimpses I get out of windows gives your legacy world that feeling of being very much in a London-like place. How do you get the separate townhouse lots to connect together on the neighborhood level? Seems I recall seeing a tutorial for that ages and eons ago.
Loved the update, BTW!

Date: 2011-06-05 10:25 am (UTC)Aw thank you. :D I admit, I've put a of of time and effort into how the neighbourhoods look, and I have lots more to do until they're finished. Maybe I'll get them all finished just in time for the end of the legacy. The terraces of houses are done using this tutorial http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=286909 and the lot expander. It means that I'm limited to a certain width for each of the houses, but they look so good in the residential part of Simdon.
Thank you!

Date: 2011-05-29 07:25 pm (UTC)I think the best way to get sims married on community lots is to arrange a group outing where they meet on said community lot, in which the other group members are the guests you would like to have attend. But I could be wrong.
no subject
Date: 2011-06-05 10:36 am (UTC)I'll have to try that next time. I do want to work it out because there are a couple of sims I want to get married in a church rather than at home, mainly because I want to be more accurate with weddings.

Date: 2011-05-29 08:26 pm (UTC)I'm guessing for a community lot wedding you maybe do an outing? Not sure, though. And there's the ring glitch issue anyway.
Running a business with only one sim? Ouch.

Date: 2011-06-05 10:38 am (UTC)I'll have to try it.
It wasn't too bad. It was only when the shop got to level four, that I ended up having Mya dash round like a mad thing. Getting it to level 5 was enough though.

Date: 2011-05-29 09:05 pm (UTC)EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE OMG COULD THEY BE ANY CUTER <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Also, your defaults really suit both Azula and Elle and I love all the pictures of them. I'm kind of shocked that Azula and Billy don't get along in your game, but maybe they'll grow into it? And the girls' nightgowns are adorable. :D
Alfie is having such a wonderful time with his life :P I feel kinda bad for Audrey, it sounds like things are not going to be easy for her.

Date: 2011-06-05 10:46 am (UTC)I obviously love my defaults muchly, but I'm always so pleased when guest sims still look like themselves and even more pleased when their creator thinks so too. :D
I'm wondering if part of Azula and Billy not getting on, is because of the much larger age gap between them in my game. Zuzu was a teen when Billy was still a toddler, and with both Harry and Mya at home, she didn't have chance to look after him. :/
It's going to take a lot of hard graft for Alfie to get where he wants to be, but he has shared that with Audrey, so she knows what she's in for. Hopefully when he gets there, it'll make everything worth while.

Date: 2011-05-30 03:03 am (UTC)Ah, sim weddings. How classic :P
Alfie's shop is so gorgeous! *wants*
Elliart!!! <3 <3 <3 So much cute! Zuzu is turning out to be a really consientious chaperone *eye roll*
I love all your shops and houses so much! Makes me want to play my Victorian 'hood and steal them allll!

Date: 2011-06-05 10:52 am (UTC)Sim wedding always end up as a farce, don't they? Oh well, at least I have a few usable pictures if I want to put anything in.
It's not so gorgeous inside at the moment. :D I had to sell a lot of things to make it so that he could afford it.
I love Elliart, and I'm sure that Zuzu was trying her best. ;) I actually loved Elle turned round to speak to her during the meal. :)
Thank you! I keep meaning to sort out some lots and upload them, but there's so much cc in them, it's a bit of a nightmare to track down creators and their TOUs. I just don't have the energy or the time to do that at the moment. There are so many other things I need to do.
