...amongst other things.

Hello all.   Well I'm still feeling dizzy today so I'm at home again.  I do feel better then yesterday which is good, so I'm hoping that I'll be well enough to go to work tomorrow.  I always feel guilty when I have time off, even though I know there is no way I could cope with work feeling like this.  Sitting here typing's bad enough because I have to keep looking up from the keyboard to the monitor (I'm not too good at touch typing).  I think I feel worse because I've got next week booked off as holiday and I like to make sure I've caught up with everything before I have time off.

Urgh anyway enough waffle on how I feel, let's talk sims:

Wow that turned out to be a long post with lots of pictures.   Sorry to anyone on dial up, but I like to share.

Well I did it.  Day 5 is now on an exchange near you ready for you to read.

I don't think it's my best day but I'm fairly happy with it: some of the language just feels a little clunky.  Anyway it is here.

BC Day 4

Well I was actually ready to post this last night at 9.00 but the exchange was down, and was still down three hours later when I went to bed, so you've all had to wait until today.

Anyway day 4 is now here.  Enjoy.

So the other day I posted about the stupid cow who queue jumped at the traffic lights in Hertford, well one of my friends at work told me that she was in a queue of traffic at the same lights, but outside our office Friday evening when another dickhead did exactly the same thing, cutting in at the keep clear on the road in front of our yard!  I just can't believe that it happened twice in a week at the same set of lights.  What is wrong with drivers in Hertford?

Anyway, the point of this post is not to rant about the idiots on the road, but to share some pictures that didn't make it from the first three days of the BC.

I suddenly remembered that I've been forgetting to post here when the BC is up, oops.

Anyway day 3 is here.

You can also find day 1 and day 2 on the exchange.  Enjoy.

I'm in the mood to ramble at the moment, some of it will be about sims, some of it won't.  In fact lets start with a rant not related to sims in any way, shape or form.

Now I've got that off my chest, let's talk sims.

Ramblings

I really feel like rambling on about some of the going ons in my game at the moment.

I'm currently blokcing out the next day of the BC, and shooting any pick ups that I need.  I did start yesterday, but I ran into a small prblem.  You see I normally play with Paladin's no social worker for hot or cold in, since I don't understand the SoWo turning up when a child is cold.  I mean they've been making a snowman, it's not as if I've locked them in a 6x6 pen in the garden and am forcing them to live there!  Anyway, since I couldn't access Simwardrobe the other night, I'd left it out until I was certain that it was compatible with AL.  It turns out that the hack also mitigates some of the heat effects for adults because I was shooting a pick up in the hot tubs when this happened to Theo:

I've also started shooting for the rest of chapter 15 of the main legacy.  My big plan is to have chapter 15 all ready to write once I've finished the BC.  So far I've shot half a dozen scenes, but this chapter is going to be very plot heavy so I have lots more to do.  I'm actually considering splitting it into two parts so that I can do it justice.  I'm very excited about it since I've had most of the scenes I'm currently doing planned in my head for a couple of months now, and I want to share them with you all.  Of course it also means that I'll be getting closer to generation 5 making it's appearance.

On that note, I've decided I really need to stop worrying about how long it is taking me to play since I'm enjoying it so much.  Plus I'm not planning on getting Sims 3 so I think I'll be playing this game for quite a while longer.

Tieing in with the BC whilst I was at the LS shooting a scene with Stan, I teleported over the winner of the BC so that Theo could get to know her.  It cermented in my mind that the best sim won.  Two conversations was all it took for them to become friends and Theo to start giving her autonomous backubs.  They were also my test couple for the cuddle under stars and classic dance socials, both of which I love.

BC musings

Yeah, I know I'm going on about this BC, but I'm having so much fun with it, I thought I'd ramble on about it a bit more to anyone who's interested.

My original thought for writing it up, was to get a few days played and then sort and write whilst playing the next bit.  But I'm a bit dim at times, and forgot that I wouldn't have time to shoot any set scenes such as phone conversations I might want to include.  What I'm going to do now is play the entire challenge, then nuke all the crushes etc and move everyone back in.  I'll then shoot pick ups for each day so I have the right people in the back ground.  Once I've done that and shot the stuff with Di, Denise, Circe and Lea I'll start sorting and writing the first day.  So it'll take me a bit longer to get the first day out than I thought I'm afraid.  Hey at least once I do start writing it shouldn't take me too long right?

I'm about to finish day 4 when I next go into the game.  Which will be soon I think since it's a typical dull bank holiday Monday out side, so I won't be going out.  The results so far have been a bit surprising on a couple of days, but I really think that this eviction will be the closest one yet.

I just want to say thank you to you all for a couple of reasons  Firstly, thank you for the response to the prologue to the BC.  I am very pleased with how it turned out, so to read that you all like it and how I am integrating it into the legacy makes me smile a lot.  To say thank you, I'm going to share with you the recipe for decadent chocolate torte.

See, it's a very simple recipe, but utterly delicious.

I've been playing the first two days of the BC, and I am just having so much fun with it.  I'm writing this in between doing the second day eviction.  Anyway, I thought you might like to hear some fun facts from it so far:

Oh and Doc I have to say a huge, huge thank you for allowing me to put SimNerd in the challenge.  She did something that made me laugh so hard, I couldn't breathe.

So thank you, thank you Doc, I know she is going to be a pain later in the challenge, but this makes up for it.

Well my plan today was to get half the prologue written so I could continue tomorrow and get everything ready to upload it on Monday.  I kinda got carried away and ended up writing the entire thing.

Since I'm being boring and staying in tonight I thought I'd get all my photo-editing bits done, and then I thought 'well I might as well  finish all this and get it on the exchange,' so that's what I've done.

The chapter its self is here
The Boolprop topic is here.

This does mean that I can play the first day tomorrow, and maybe get some things done in Regalton too without worrying about getting this written.  Very happy about that.

...because I'm not as far along with what I want to do as I had hoped to be.  Ah well I do keep getting distracted by the Olympics.

Anyway, I got chapter 15.1 blocked out today, which is good.  I'm not too happy with it though, which isn't.  My shortlist is currently 132 pictures, and although I know that includes scenes where I'm not sure what picture to use yet, there are also some where I might want to add a few.  Also, I don't think it flows well yet.  I'm going to put everything into Word tomorrow and then I think I'll see what happens when I start to write.

This weekend I'm planning on shooting the prologue for the BC, and I've got everyone in the neighbourhood ready.  This means I've completed the observers' house, so I thought I'd share it with you.

I think, I hope anyway because last night I got inspired enough to finish the first draft of chapter 14.1. I've been going through it this evening, changing the bits I think need changing, and, although it's not my best chapter I'm fairly pleased with it.  I also managed to get my cover almost finished before my anti-virus scan kicked in, so that's good.

Also whilst I was sorting invoices at work today my brain was sparking  ideas for  character based scenes for chapter 14.2 , and if that wasn't enough, I've also got an idea for where I am going with Alexandra when she leaves the Acadamie.

I'm going to try a trick Orikes does, and resize my large pictures to try to get rid of the bluryness which occurs when the exchange shrinks them.  Even with that, all being well I should be able to get the chapter on the exchange tomorrow night, Wednesday at the latest.

In BC news, LauriEmpress has volunteered her simself, so I now have 7 lovely ladies all ready to try to win Theodore's affections.

I feel as if things are moving along now, which is good.

When I opened the game earlier I didn't feel like playing, I felt like building.  Not my usual draw a few boxes, stick a roof on it, make it look vaguely Victorian sort of building either.  Oh no it was a make the roof look nice, landscape the garden sort of building feeling.  Since I've got two buildings to make for Theo's BC I was pleased.  So I got my Victorian design books out and started flicking through them.  I came a cross a line drawing of a country villa, and ... let's just say I was a bit inspired.
