Di's Victorian Vexes

I know that you are pulling out of your flat's drive onto the main road, but you ARE PULLING OUT OF A DRIVE ONTO A MAIN ROAD.  Please to be driving to the junction SLOWLY, stopping with your WHOLE car behind the line, and GIVING WAY to the CARS ALREADY ON THE ROAD!

Driving up to the junction QUICKLY, stopping at the LAST SECOND, with your nose in THE ROAD WHERE I WOULD HAVE BEEN IF I HADN'T SWERVED VIOLENTLY TO AVOID YOU BECAUSE IT LOOKED FOR ALL THE WORLD LIKE YOU WERE GOING TO JUST PULL INTO THE ROAD AND WE WOULD HAVE COLLIDED makes for a ratty and shaking Di, and Di doesn't like that.

Is anyone else having issues with LJ not updating?

What I mean by that, is that my friends page doesn't want to update these days, instead showing me what was there hours ago, instead of what is there now.  It's been happening for about four days now, both here and at work, and using both FF and IE.  Logging in was helping, as was clicking and viewing the entry on the person's journal, but isn't any more.

Yesterday, I checked LJ briefly before heading out, and responded to a post, went checked something else, came back and my comment wasn't showing, and refreshing did nothing, so I replied again, thinking it had been eaten or something.  Only the second reply showed up.  This morning, both are showing up.

Not only that, I checked LJ this morning, no new entries, logged on and suddenly had 11 new entries on my f-page, only 4 of which are f-locked.

What the hell?

Sort it out LJ, it's starting to piss me off.

Blooming Windows grr. 

I spent a sizeable chunk of yesterday planning my next chapter.  My planning involves setting up a new folder on my desktop called chapwhatevershort, I take off the auto arrange but keep it snapped to grid.  Into this I put the snapshots I am going to use in the order I plan on using them.  I then use this order for finding my thumbnails and putting them into Word.  I also preview the pictures in here as I am writing, and having them in order means I get a good idea of what the story will look like on the exchange. It's a bit faffy, but for me it works.

Well I didn't get the entire chapter finished yesterday, so today I open the folder up to find that Windows has completely changed the order I put everything in.  All 178 photos were in a random order, not arranged by name, not arranged by date modified, completely random.  I am not a happy bunny.  I have put the last 30 pictures in there, and now face the prospect of not only finding the correct thumbnails and putting them in order, but also re-ordering all 219 snapshots.  ARGHHH! 

As you have probably gathered chapter 12 will be another two-parter, but they have to be read together so it's probably going to take me a bit of time to write them.  I really want to try to get an interlude out too, so I might put that out first, I'm not sure depends on how the writing goes really.
