BC thoughts and out-takes ...

Hello all. Well I'm still feeling dizzy today so I'm at home again. I do feel better then yesterday which is good, so I'm hoping that I'll be well enough to go to work tomorrow. I always feel guilty when I have time off, even though I know there is no way I could cope with work feeling like this. Sitting here typing's bad enough because I have to keep looking up from the keyboard to the monitor (I'm not too good at touch typing). I think I feel worse because I've got next week booked off as holiday and I like to make sure I've caught up with everything before I have time off.
Urgh anyway enough waffle on how I feel, let's talk sims:
Now the BC is over I can concentrate on the legacy again, which I'm pleased about. I know I'm going to be pelted with rotten tomatoes over a plot that's going to be revealed soon, but I hope you all remember that I like happy endings. Anyway I've been planning the two major plots that will be revealed in the next two parts of chapter 15 for about four months now, and I'm itching to share them with my readers.
I was shooting the major parts of 15.3 yesterday and I'm really pleased with some of the pictures I've got. I'm also planning on starting on sorting for 15.2 within the next two days.
Something else I've done is play Alexandra for four days so that the age difference between her and Edward is preserved. This means that the first children (natural twins) of generation 5 are here. I'm very happy about that. Now all I need to do is finish the rotation in the main 'hood, (only one day in each house thankfully and I will probably use insim too), and then I can get back to playing the boys through their final year at uni. Once that's done I can get generation 5 started in the main house. i am very excited at that prospect.

Let's start with the BC. I had so much fun playing and writing this challenge. One of the reasons I decided to set this during the boys' time at university was because I knew that the rest of chapter 15 would be very plot intensive meaning that I would have to think extremely carefully about what I was about to shoot and how I was going to do that. Playing the BC, leaving the sims on free will for 90% of the time and only getting them into place for the dates allowed me to relax and enjoy playing for the sake of playing. There were a lot of funny moments I've not been able to share until now because they revealed who was left in the house at various times.
The writing was also pretty relaxing, even though I was pushing myself to get a chapter out a week. I think that was because I had a clear idea about how I was going to write the dates, even if the exact subject matter of a lot of them came to me only when I was trying to write them. When two sims are talking about aliens for the umpteenth time you do sometimes think, 'how can I write this up without repeating myself again?'
Hmm that reminds me, the top conversation topics in the house? Aliens and science fiction; food; the weather; pollution and the planet; kissing.
Right now for some pic spam.
Theo gets very passionate when it comes to talking about pollution and how he wants to save the planet, I'm surprised it didn't scare Annie off.
I have lots of proof of SimNerd's stalkery nature to share wih you all, and it did sometimes cut down on the number of pictures I had to choose from when writing. You can see she's in her pjs here: I actually reshot her share interests with Theo so that she was dressed since I didn't think that Theo would have spoken to her when she was half undressed at this point. Funnily enough the topic of the share interestes was the same both times around. Anyway SimNerd liked to keep her eyes on the prize all the time:

I was really pleased with how the garden at Hope Springs turned out, especaily at night. Unfortunately the opportunity to have Theo and his guests sitting on the benches never arose, but here is a picture of it from the hot tub gazebo:
Although I struggled at times with coming up with conversations for the hot tubs, I did get some pictures I really like from them. i've got a selection for you all here. Some are funny, some I just liked the lighting and the look on the sim's face:

As I've mentioned on several occasions I reshot different scenes to make them fit the overall story better and to get better pictures. I went to great lengths to make sure that the reshot scenes stayed true to the original though, and I'd like to share one of those now. In the orignal of this, Theo was calling the repairman because a sprinkler had once again broken. I had to move Nerd into the library by using 'go here' but everything else that happened was on free will. Anyway here are the original pictures with the final words.

During one of the dates I happened to be shooting towards the library window when I saw this person walk by:
Oh Allyn, if you only knew what your grandson was up to inside. (Acutally I can't tell you how strange it is for me to see her looking like this).
Right let's talk about the dates for the last three days. The biggest surprise for me was when Michelle rejected the caress. I really did not see it coming. I checked all the simselves scores towards Theo before deciding to go ahead with that flirt, and Michelle liked him better (both with regards to LTR and DR) than Annie and Jessica.
I had to reshoot it several times though in the end because in the original and first few reshoots she kept smiling! Michelle you're rejecting Theo, you don't smile about it!
When she did finally pull the right face their hands didn't meet:
Since I hadn't decided exactly wjhat I was going to do with this, I had to shoot it again until:
In the end I watched Michelle reject Theo 5 times. That was tough.
Other dates weren't so tough. It's been mentioned that Theo pulls the cutest serenade faces, and I have to agree:

The flirt I was most worried about showing was the goose. It is just so completely out of character for him, even with those out going points. I think it's because Theo is a gentleman, just an outspoken one. In the end the fantastic animation came to my rescue, allowing me to pick pictures that were part of the flirt, but didnt look like it. After all I couldn't use these ones:
The sim in these pictures looks so unlike Theo it's unbelieveable.
I loved doing the kissy dates though, mainly because the sims looked so happy:
All these pictures just make me feel warm and fuzzy.
By day 5 the thought bubbles of all the sims involved were getting out of control. I was having to frame pictures carefully at times to cut them out. Yeah i know I could have used showheadlinds off, but I'd already decided to use conversation topics for inspiration for my writing so wanted them present. I'll leave you to caption most of these.

"Uh huh." 'Kissing...'

This was Doc and Theo's last date. Yes I reshot it since I thought it wasn't right that she was in her corset.

Day 6 I started having problems with the door locks not working properly. Thankfully they worked for Annie's make out because Nerd must have been waiting right outside since no sooner did I unlock it than she walked in:

It was the morning of the last eviction that the locks stopped working, and it couldn't have happened at a worse time. The first time it happened was during Theo and Nerd's kiss in the dinning room. I'd just taken this pic of them pulling apart and paused the game to unlock the door when I noticed the door was open and Annie was walking through it.
I was sure there would be slapping, and told Annie to walk into the hall as quickly as I could. thankfully I got away with it.
This is the only other picture I have of Annie's caress on that last day, because I swung the camera round to get a shot of Theo to see Nerd walking into the room.
I panicked again, and told her to leave, and she didn't seem to see the flirt or react to it. Thank goodness.

I'll discuss how I feel about the winner later, but I love that Nerd and Theo both got aspy points from seeing a wolf whilst he gave her a back rub.
Nerd manages to get into glitchy situations a lot. Either that or she just wanted to go horse riding.

Trying to shoot the final pictures of Theo making his decison was more difficult than I thought it would be. I just couldn't find the right animation:
In the end I'm fairly happy with the picture I did use. It's still alkcing something in my mind, but it fits better than what I did try.
Ok, discussion on who won.
In some ways it is very difficult to say exactly how I feel because I'm so grateful to all of you who volunteered your smselves to take part, and I like you all. I'd hate for anyone to think that anything which I say that may be construed as negactive is a reflection on you, because it's not, this is purely based on how the sim you put forward acted in game with Theo.
The long and the short of it is I am extremely happy with the fact that SimNerd won. From very early on in the challenge, there was just something about how Nerd and Theo interacted that I loved. No other sim came close to capturing that, not even Annie. Yes she was a mad stalker, but he became so animated when talking to her, and actively started seeking her out above the other sims. Nerd may have initiated the first kiss with Theo, but he initiated all the rest.
I didn't manipulate the results in any way shape or form, but I had come up with a plan of action for day 6 if the scores were tied. I'd decided that if both sims were 200/200 with Theo then Nerd would still win because she was the first sim he fell in love with. I've been playing them back in Regalton and they make me squee a lot, mainly because they do things like this:
Right now believe it or not, but I still have some more pictures for you. I have been sitting on these since it happened, desperate to share them, but uinable to because it takes place after the challenge was over, and before I moved everyone back in.
They are another reason as to why I love that SimNerd won, and may rival the kidney extration:

I know, first children of gen 5 are here already. I say already when it is actually 8 months since gen 4 made it's appearance. LOL.
