Rotational Picspam - Simdon

First up I wanted to apologise because I feel like a bad friend. I keep popping up for a bit, posting something, replying to things and then disappearing, seemingly ignoring a lot of what is going on on my f-list. I'm not ignoring it. I'm reading almost all of it, but I've been dealing with some health issues since July. At the moment, it's not looking like they are serious, although I still don't have answers, but it does mean that I've not been feeling that great, and I've not been feeling chatty. At all. So yes, I've been quiet apart from when I force myself to do something, or the guilt gets to me.
But you're not here for that. You're here for the spam.

Another of my favourite houses to play. At the moment, there is only A&A, Mickey and Zane in the house, and I have to say that Zane has settled into the family well.

Mickey seemed to be feeling the effects of having some relatives die as part of the rebuild and was a bit quiet

Which is more than can be said for his parents, who decided to scandalise the entire neighbourhood.

Why yes, I do generally have a very hands off approach to simming, why do you ask?
It turns out that Mickey was being too quiet. I've not seen a social bunny in goodness knows how long. I'm inclined to think that part of the reason for Mickey's social bottoming out is because of all the faffing I had to do to fix things with the rebuild, and so free will was off for a bit, and sims not given any direction.

Poor Zane looks like he's trying to humour Mickey over the bunny.

"A big yellow rabbit? How lovely."
Whilst this was going on, their parents were still being very un-Victorian.

(Also, yes A&A do have different eyebrows to the ones they had in the last chapter. I forgot to change them when I put them in the dummy hood for filming. But at least I remembered the wrinkles.)
Anthony and Zane did spend some time bonding too. I forgot how much I love red hands faces.

Mickey had perked up by the end of the rotation, and the yellow bunny had gone.

Poor Greg ended up getting glitched, and standing on TOP of the swing seat. By the time I'd realised what had happened, he'd had a slight accident. Sorry Greg. :(

We'll end with a pic of A&A looking rather smug.

So from here on out, I seemed to forget that I wanted to take pictures while playing, and so I have very few of the Roselands. In fact far fewer than I thought I had taken.
For those of you who may have forgotten, this is Louisa's family, and you might know Greg better from Lark's Vaulting Ambitions legacy, where he is married to Mari, her founder Owen's niece. (Who you will be seeing in my hood very soon).
Out of the twins, Harry is the mean one, by a long way. It's a good job that Greg loves him. Most of the time anyway.

Before the rebuild, the Roselands were joined by Arabella, who was the result of Inteen's risky woohoo. I had forgotten that Inteen added risky woohoo untill Louisa popped. Anyway, I grew her up before extracting her, so she actually appears to be older than she is here. She should have been a baby on the first day of the rotation. But that doesn't matter, because look how adorable she is!

She's also a bit of a terror, but who cares? Adorable! *pinches cheeks*
Harry brought home one of my Highland locals on the last day, which I'm actually pretty pleased about, since it fits with the little bit of characterisation I'm working on for him. Not sure how much'll make it into the story itself, but since he will be seen when Mickey, Zane, Emmi and Peggy head to Simbridge, I want to have something to be able to bring in if necessary.

Here's a better picture of her face. I think she's VERY pretty, and is actually the spawn of two other Highland locals.

Told you you would be seeing Owen and Mari soon. Both are in the new neighbourhood, and they share their house with a lodger.

Preeeetty sure that this comes as no surprise to anyone. I've been thinking long and hard over what to do with Vicky, and as a lot of you know, at one point she was linked with Connor Vetinari. When I sat down to think about her long term future, I realised that Connor and her wouldn't work for long, not based on how they interacted in my game. (Think Bertie and Sophia. Talk and end up arguing, but keep going back for more, until Vicky walked off and did something else. It happened all the time). I'm working on a Myshuno piece that will show the end of that relationship from Vicky's point of view.
Well, in the end, I realised that Owen as a character was pretty much perfect for her. There are lots of reasons for that, and so I decided to see how the sims got on. They get on great and make me happy.
Vicky also gets on well with Mari. This is Vicky's bedroom by the way. Her and Owen still have to play by certain rules in my game hood.

I can't help but wish that they would play catch in the sizable back garden rather than in the street though. I love how unamused cate looks here.

I am really enjoying seeing my new shiny NPCs show up in game. Here Owen joins the music and dance club, and I get to squee over my dance hobby leader and how she does actually wear appropriate outerwear now too.

Also, Owen's a handsome devil.

The final house in Simdon in the rotation is Christopher's. I've not mentioned it in story really, but it was a gift from Anthony. Christopher doesn't live here alone. Donna Doran lives here too.

I had wanted to introduce the two of them in story sooner than I'm going to end up doing so, but there's always been more important things to get into the chapters. And then I introduced the idea that Christopher was content to wait to find a wife, because I liked how the sentiment worked in that particular chapter. They are going to meet, but not yet. However, since my story hood is completely separate from my game hood, I can have them live under the same roof, although like with Owen and Vicky, they have separate beds.
Donna became the first sim to join the painting club, and it cracked me up that the hobby leader cheered Christopher's piano playing as he went to greet her.

As you would expect, Christopher's in the Artist career, and I've had Donna start to make friends to help him. She ended up bonding with this townie over a water balloon fight at the beginning of winter.

Not the best thing to do as the weather turns colder, but it was necessary since this is what happened every single time they tried to converse.

"What do you mean silver flying machines? There are no such things as silver flying machines!"
We'll end with an unsuccessful attempt by Mickey to steal their paper.

Unsuccessful because here is where the papers always end up due to the lack of space out the front:

You can't get to the back door Mickey.
And that's it for the spam for now. I have a little more to share, but I think I'm going to wait to share that.
But you're not here for that. You're here for the spam.

Date: 2012-10-25 09:00 pm (UTC)A&A had wrinkles? Do you have them available for download (if I may mooch off of you)? I've said on multiple occasions that I would have given my right arm for a "middle aged" Sim age. Rhys and Eden are older, but they still look like they're 20 and it makes it hard to convey how awful Bella was when she was digging at Eden's age when she and Eden looked like they belonged in the same age group.
Oh, and LOL at A&A's shenanigans. I really, really love them. I really do.
*sigh* And now I'm just going to look at all of your pretty pictures and admire all the time and effort that you put into EVERYTHING. All of your details are absolutely stunning and I wish I had an ounce of your patience!
I can't wait for your next chapter!
Awww, poor Mickey. Like you, I haven't seen the Social Bunny in AGES.

Date: 2012-10-25 10:54 pm (UTC)They do indeed, Eddie and Carmen have them too. You can't see them very well in these pics, but they're more visible in the last chapter. Look at the scene where Horace first goes to see Anthony and Anthony's brow looks quite furrowed. That is exactly why I decided to use them. Now I have my ageing set up how I like it, it was irritating me that Eddie et al would look the same age as their children when they got home from Simbridge. So I found some nice wrinkles from Simple Life and edited them to make them a little lighter. I think that this archive here contains the original wrinkles as well as my edits. (I uploaded them for a few people the other week).
Me too. A&A crack me up. :D
Aww thank you. I still see things I want to improve each time I open my game. At the moment, I've still got to finish the mailbox, and I'm slowly making the plants I use the most seasonal.
To tell the truth, I'd forgotten about the social bunny until the game froze and it appeared.
Thanks. I've sort of started on writing it and well, three slides is better than nothing right?

Date: 2012-10-25 11:10 pm (UTC)Weirdly, I never saw Connor and Vicky working out over the long-term. Connor's the guy you lust over, and maybe even entertain the idea of being in love with, but you don't bring him home to meet the parents.

Date: 2012-10-26 08:43 pm (UTC)*grins* I like it when I'm on the same page as the original author, because that is a big part of my reasoning as to why Vicky and Connor wouldn't work in the long run.

Date: 2012-10-26 08:45 pm (UTC)I really love A&A, they're still one of my favourite couples ever, so I'm happy others love them too.
It's been so long, it quite took me by surprise. Poor Mickey indeed.

Date: 2012-10-26 08:46 pm (UTC)It's taken me a long time to get the neighbourhood looking as it does, and there's still more that I want to do with it, but I'm pleased with how it looks, so thank you.
Thanks. I'm hoping I'll start to pick up soon.

Date: 2012-10-26 04:19 am (UTC)Love A&A being practically naked outside. Shock! Horror! The townie side-eyeing them was the best.
Zane is TOTALLY humoring Mickey there. "Yes, of course there's a bunny!"
Aw, baby! And you can always cheat her to stay a toddler longer to keep her the right age.
Yeah, Anthony would totally provide for Christopher and Bethany and Zane as well as his children by blood. He may not be able to make Christopher his heir, but he provides well for him.
Can't wait for more!

Date: 2012-10-26 08:49 pm (UTC)A&A have no sense of propriety, but it was funny. Especially with the walk bys.
He really is. If I was still writing a commentary-style legacy I'd totally be using those pics and having Zane humour him.
*nods* I did actually tack an extra day onto her age when setting up to do that, and she's so cute, it doesn't matter.
He really would. He has faith in Christopher being able to provide for himself eventually, but he would make sure that he had a good start, and a nice house.
:D

Date: 2012-10-26 09:45 am (UTC)Arabella is a really adorable toddler, and it's so nice to see her around.
Definitely love the fact that Christopher and Donna are enjoying themselves, and Yay for cool-looking townies showing up! I love how Owen gets to shake hands with the dance hobby leader. Those pics sure look pure awesomeness.
Love the picspam, and I hope you'll get better soon.

Date: 2012-10-26 08:51 pm (UTC)Arabella is so, so sweet. I think that she's going to take after Harry.
I'm really pleased with my new townies. It took a long time to make them and put them in both neighbourhoods, but it was worth it. My hobby leaders are real favourites of mine.
Thank you. Hopefully I'll start to feel better soon.

Date: 2012-10-26 02:57 pm (UTC)Hi Donna, bb! LOL that she got into the painting club before Chris. She looks great with her hair down like that. I also love that she's trying to talk about airplanes: "Well where I come from we have these things called planes..."
Vicki and Owen are adorable together. I can't wait to finally see her happy.
Ohhh that rolled newspaper default is really cool!
no subject
Date: 2012-10-26 08:54 pm (UTC)Hehe, yeah Donna snagged the easel on that floor as soon as she could, and since Christopher has already maxed creativity, I was content to let him play the piano for a bit. I will be buying another easel for him, so that he can make money out of painting next rotation.
Again, that is something that I loved my game for doing, and if I was writing a commentary, I'd use those pictures and that conversation in pretty much that way.
The newspaper is actually a game glitch. It's what happens with the papergirl can't deliver it, and so it teleports our of her hand, onto the back step like that. But I agree, it does look good.

Date: 2012-10-26 03:00 pm (UTC)A&A made me giggle. ^^ They are so great together.
And those wrinkles! I was going to ask you if you'd mind sharing them and then I saw you already did! *squeeeee* Thank you!!

Date: 2012-10-26 08:58 pm (UTC)A&A are great. They never fail to make me grin.
Yeah, since they're something I made just for myself, I'm not going to add them to the Emporium, but please grab them from this thread if they're useful to you. I really like how they make my middle aged sims look just that, and not like smooth faced twenty-year olds.

Date: 2012-10-27 09:33 am (UTC)I love Zane's face when humouring Mickey. XD
:( Get better soon and quickly!

Date: 2012-11-01 08:06 pm (UTC)That whole conversation was hilarious, and made me wish a little that I still wrote a commentary based legacy, because it'd be perfect fodder for it.
Thanks. I've been feeling better the past few days.

Date: 2012-10-27 02:03 pm (UTC)Also, clearly Zane is humoring Mickey there. :D Poor Mickey, though!
Aww little Arabella is so adorable. <3
Again, great to see Vicky happy. I remember her being involved with Connor, or rather considering it at least, but now that you say it, it makes sense that it wouldn't last. But, gladly things with Owen are looking good. :)
It's good to see Christopher. I've been slightly worried about what's in store for him, but it looks like it'll turn okay. And it's definitely like Anthony to give him a house. *nods*
I'm sorry about the health issues, I hope they go away soon!

Date: 2012-11-01 08:18 pm (UTC)Poor Mickey indeed. I did feel bad for him, but some sims were neglected during the rebuild because I had so much more to do.
Arabella is one of the most adorable toddlers I've had in game, and I've had many sweet toddlers.
Yes, they had a fling, because of where Vicky was at that time in the story, but it couldn't last long.
I can honestly say that things with Christopher will turn out ok.
Thanks. I'm feeling better at the moment, and I had positive news from the doctor today, so hopefully I'll continue to improve.

Date: 2012-11-01 08:23 pm (UTC)Christopher's fun. He won't even play a large part in the story, but I do enjoy putting him in, so he will still be about for quite a while yet.
