Well I think (I hope) that I have just avoided a disaster in the neighbourhood.  At about 9.50 I decided to call it quits for the night, and go and have a shower, so I exited the game, having told it to save.  I was just surfing the net whilst I waited for it to shut down, when up came the message "The application has experienced a problem and will now terminate." 

Cue huge panic by me since I didn't know if it was still saving when it crashed, and I know that that is a VBT which will kill the 'hood.  I went back into the game, which of course seemed to take longer to load that normal, and thankfully Regalton was still there.  It loaded fine, as did the Harrison household, so, touch wood, it looks like everything is fine. 

I've used simspe to check the character files, and they all seem to be in order, so I am hoping that I've got away with it.  I do have a back up of the 'hood I made two days ago sitting on my desktop, so I'm going to put that on my flash drive just in case.  I really don't want to lose everyone or have to rebuild again.

That happened to me when Generation Four were kids, the game crashed whilst I was saving. I didn't know it was a VBT at the time, but everything was fine for me when I restarted the game.

So hopefully it won't cause any problems down the line! I was ok, so fingers crossed you will be too.

Y'know as I was waiting for the game to come back up I thought I'm sure I read in someone's legacy that this happened and everything was ok, I couldn't remember who it was till now. It was you!

I've been playing this evening and it seems fine, so fingers crossed.

YIKES! I'm glad Regalton is OK. I am right there with you on the Total Rebuild: DO NOT WANT thing.

I accidentally crashed my computer during a save & quit before (not the same thing, but yeah :P) and my game was fine/didn't lose any saved progress.

I'm glad Regalton is still okay! :)

Phew, it looks like everything will be fine then. I've heard of it happening to others and then all their neighbourhoods were gone when they went back into the game.
