Writer's block, sorta, kinda.

Yeah, so I'm finding it really hard going writing chapter 14.1. I have ideas as to what to write, but it's taking me so long to get it down in Word. Normally when I'm writing during the week, I average 20-25 slides a night. Not a great deal, but I tend to do other things at the same time, such as play the game or surf the net. This week I'm averaging 12.15 slides. It's only a short chapter too (about 100 slides) but with only 41 done I'm not sure if I'll hit my self-imposed deadline of uploading on monday night.
I think part of it is I am so close to sending the second wave to university and getting started on Edward's story, I just want to get that done. I am really looking forward to getting the kids to uni and having the plot start to take off again. I don't want to say too much, but when my readers figure out what is going on I want there to be gasps, gasps I tell you, and shouts at the screen of "Nooooo." You'll probably all find it very anti-climactic now, but there you go.
With the boys at uni I can start thinking more about the BC too. I still have two spaces left, so I'm hoping that there will be two more volunteers when the next chapter goes up, because Theo is in it and everyone can see how yummy he is.
I've also been procrastinating by re-colouring some of the eyes I made last year.

Excuse the crappy preview pic, but I'm pretty pleased with how they've turned out. A couple of the greens are a bit bright,, but they suit the style of my sims. I'm going to do more I think, then I'll bin them and might upload them to MTS2.
Anyway, I think that's enough procrastination for now. Back to the writing.

I've had a few more birthdays in the spare houses.
First up was Mini-Anne, er sorry I mean Julia:

The only thing I think she has inherited from Mathias is the shape and size of her eyes and skintone. Everything else comes from Annie.
There were loads of birthdays in Aphrodita and Henry's house. I've not pmed Dita with these yet, so I hope she doesn't mind me sharing them with you all first.

Timothy

John.

Alfie. I will say this: Dita's simself and Henry have produced some great looking kids.

Henry also got old, and doesn't he look happy about it? this was autonomous btw.

That's better. I think he has aged well.

This is Rosemary, Robert and Cecilia's daughter. I'm not too sure about this eye make-up on her: I think it makes her look a bit bug eyed, but apart from that I think that she is uniquely beautiful.

Date: 2008-07-17 08:05 pm (UTC)Don't worry about the writers block, there's been plenty of times I've got as far as actually opening the chapter I need to work on, take one look, think 'NAH!' and go do something else. As it's always said, just do something esle for a while and then you'll probably feel more inclined or inspired. And we'll all be happy to wait for as long as it takes anyway. I'm excited about seeing the kids iat uni too, and your talk of gasps has me excited and intruiged..
Aww, old Henry! Bless, he still makes his little angry face. But he has indeed aged well. Dita's skintone and eyes still scare me a bit, but the kids pull it off well. And I think Rosemary's goreous - gasp gasp at her! I think the eye make up works, but then I quite like it when my Sims have big eyes. And I like those greens for the eyes! Third down on the right is especially yummy.

Date: 2008-07-17 10:08 pm (UTC)I've never had writer's block this bad, and I hate it. I've shot some story scenes with Alexandra to see if it helps, but it didn't.
I've stripped the kids of the skintone and eyes in bodyshop, and they are gorgeous. It's taken me a while to get used them since they aren't the normal style I use.
I've just made a sim with those eyes to share a dorm with Joe because I like them so much.

Sometimes you just need a mental shift. That's why I did the Asylum--I wasn't in the mood to play my Legacy and watch Raven and Tom and Cory and Helen get old. I'll also play my spares, or go muck around with the House of Stuff, or decorate houses, or meddle with the SimSelves...
You could always design the house for your BC, get Theo moved in and the Welcome Wagon out of the way, get the current volunteers all ready to go, and hijack people if you need to...

SOOO excited about the BC. Cee's Family sim aspiration is in the red so she's in need of a good bachelor to come her way.
