About part three of the Harrison boys' non-bc, honest.  It's just I've found myself dealing with other things this week and a half, such as playing/shooting and trying to rescue part of my neighbourhood from a complete meltdown.

Oh yes, that's turning out to be fun.

You see, I was in Simdon on Sunday I think it was, and I changed the lots opposite A&A's house, because of a future scene I need to shoot there.  That was all fine, but when I went into the Smith house to shoot a couple of scenes there, it started constantly crashing or freezing on me.  Oh, and I started getting very odd thumbmnails appearing in the top left corner of the pictures I was taking:

Yes, that would be Kaylynn, the maid there.

I played another lot briefly and found that didn't crash, so I thought it was a lot issue.  Yesterday, I found out that the issue goes deeper than that.  I went to enter a lot I need for a future scene, to see how it was set up, and change anything I didn't like.  The game crashed before the lot loaded.

"Ok," I thought, "maybe there's some cc in there that I got rid of in my re-organisation."  I loaded the game and tried again.  It loaded fine.

"Strange," I thought, before exiting to the hood and then choosing to enter the university hood.

Crash.

Loaded it again, tried to enter the uni from another subhood.  Fine.  Entered Simdon, tried to exit to Regalton.  Crash.  Loaded game, entered a lot  in Simdon, exited, tried to enter another one.  Crash.

The upshot is that Simdon has become incredibly unstable and prone to crashing when I try to change subhoods from it, or do anything after entering it.

This is a major problem.  Simdon has become increasingly important to my story and my sims, as I try to give my world a proper sense of Geography.  I have at least one, probably more scenes to shoot there for the current chapter, as well as the rest of the day at A&A's to play.  Then there is the fact that there are several major, major scenes coming up in the next few chapters that have to be shot there.  I can't do that in an unstable hood, so....I've come up with a plan.

I've spent this evening, placing lots in a new downtown called Simdon Residential.

I'm then going to build Simdon Commercial, and the Nickle.  I'm hoping that giving each area its own subhood, will stop the crashing and allow me to play and shoot there without any problems.  Of course, I'm also going to have to do this for the blank hood too, and I think I'm going to try to get that done soon after I've finished doing the current legacy hood.

What this means, is that my shooting is currently on hold.  I'm hoping to get back to it at some point over the weekend, but I have to get this done first.

I also want to get a couple of comments done too, but I tend to only feel like writing those, while I am at work  :/  That's not good at all.

*hugs* I hope that fixes it!

And yes, that IS weird with the pics.

(Also, yay Ezra talking to Anthony!)

Me too! So far I can do much more in the new hoods than I can in the original Simdon. I now have to move everyone over, and then I can delete it.

The pictures is totally weird. I don't get them at all.

Yay indeed. :D

*HUGS* That's a serious bummer Di! Your solution sounds like a good one though and I hope that it fixes the problem. That is seriously weird with the portraits too...

It is. I'm hoping splitting the hood up will work though.

I really don't know what was going on with the pictures. they'd start doing that and then the game would crash.

This will work. And if it doesn't we will call out the computer torture devices. ::nod::

I do hope it works, Di. :)
